Armonigann #1 Posted March 11, 2011 Yep, I just got burned Well, normally pics speak for themselves but this time the guy hid part of the cart and I thought maybe he just sucked monkey balls at taking pix. I've bought numerous games on AA even from even some of the newbest of the newbs, but this time I've just scored the ugliest cart in my collection. It's so ugly that I was even somewhat scared to even put it in my NES! So, I did actually clean it which did very little and put in the nes and quess what? Not only is it ugly as shit but it also does'nt work I mean, I was'nt expecting a mint cart whatsoever, but I was expecting a cart that was not broken and at least would fire up after cleaning. Also, I would super expect this for Ebay but not from my beloved AA . Anyways, you win some and then you lose some I guess. Im sure I should've asked more questions before purchasing but I did not expect the ultra worse. The seller will be exploited here shortly, meanwhile heres a couple pix for ya to laugh at The first 2 are the "actual" cart the last is the pic he took
PsychoKittyNet #2 Posted March 11, 2011 That's why you always ask to the condition of the cart your getting. I made the mistKe of buying one game on Amazon,(Duck Tales 2) and it looked like someone popped bubble gum on the label. Fine otherwise though.
wccw mark #3 Posted March 11, 2011 i see a sticker that looks like it says $5.i would pay $5 for that game in that condition if it worked.
4Ks #4 Posted March 11, 2011 I'd say it was my label-less INTV Burgertime. Tt was free though, so whatever.
wccw mark #5 Posted March 11, 2011 i just looked at the picture the seller took.i see your point.looks like he tried to hide the cracked case/discoloration.either that or he took a bad pic.still, sucks that the game dont work.

jaybird3rd #7 Posted March 11, 2011 That cartridge looks as if somebody with really bad cigarette breath has been blowing into it.
AtariLeaf #8 Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) I've bought very poor looking carts but usually in person if they were a good price. I have a Starmaster X-7 with a rip on the main label but it was $1 so its fine. Its a different story if you expect a cart in good condition and working order and get what the OP got. Very surprised it was from an AA member. I assumed ebay. I sold a Spider Maze with a smaller but similar crack to this one but I let the buyer know and took a close up pic of it (and knocked some money off the price because of it). I personally find it unconscionable to do otherwise. Edited March 11, 2011 by AtariLeaf
Armonigann #9 Posted March 11, 2011 That cartridge looks as if somebody with really bad cigarette breath has been blowing into it. The cart use to belong to George Burns.

Austin #13 Posted March 11, 2011 I bought a few PlayStation games from someone here last year. The cases were sticky and the discs were top-scratched. Haven't bought from the seller since (and he still doesn't post photos or describe the condition of his items). I received a system here last year and the case was cracked due to being poorly packed. Bleh. I'm sure there were some other things that will come to me later..

the.golden.ax #15 Posted March 11, 2011 I almost bought that game. Was posted for $8 yes? They go for $20 - $30 on ePay, but still he should have told you. Did you ask if he would make it right? AX
tz101 #16 Posted March 11, 2011 Have you tried all the usual tricks to get the game working, sandpaper, isopropyl, Brasso polish? Possibly a bad capacitor on the PCB? The game may be repairable.
+thegoldenband #17 Posted March 12, 2011 A year or two ago I bought a lot of Sega Genesis carts on AA, and while most were great, one of them looked for all the world like it had been savaged by a dog, with bite marks and everything. The circuit board didn't have any visible damage, but the game didn't work. Happily, the seller made it right and sent me a different game for free. The cart shell ended up being useful for dremel practice when I made my Everdrive shell! The worst cart I've gotten outside of AA was a INTV Sewer Sam I bought on Ebay, which arrived with major shell damage because the seller sent it in a homemade paper envelope with no padding whatsoever. Stupidity.
Armonigann #18 Posted March 12, 2011 Axe: Yes, seller made it right TZ101: Tried all the above, I would use it as a coaster but it would make my coffee table run for cover!
zylon #19 Posted March 12, 2011 That cart looks like it was left upside down on the car dashboard of a smoker for about 20 years.
