Does the ECS work with the original model Intellivisions?

Hey, does the ECS work with the original model Intellivisions?

 

I get a black screen, no menu, and if I play a game through it, I can turn the sound knob, but mainly I get a lot of crackling.

The ECS only works with Intellivision II.

Actually its only the system changer that doesnt work with a inty 1 Ecs works on all intellivisions. I have an ecs and dont even own a inty II.
