S1500 #1 Posted March 13, 2011 So I'm at a friend's house, notice SIV, so I gave it a try. I was quite impressed. There was a Space Invaders remake similar to this, but this one beats it by far. A little bit of Ikaruga, but much more fun to me. There's all sorts of invaders dancing around, combos & some power ups. I just might have to get this on my Xbox. It's better than Galaga Legions which seems really crowded compared to SIV.
Cynicaster #2 Posted March 13, 2011 I was browsing the Playstation Store a month or two ago and happened to see an ad saying this game was on for half price so I thought I'd give it a shot, even though I didn't find the demo all that fun. It's a pretty cool reimagining, I suppose--better than what was suggested by the demo. I'm not crazy about how it's always interrupting the game to show the "evolution" screen, I think they could have improved the flow a bit to make it less disjointed, especially near the beginning of the game. My other complaint is that it seems like at any given screen it's either ridiculously easy or ridiculously hard. Then again, I've never been very good at shooters. If you're either into shooters or new takes on classic names, to me, the undisputed kings of the hill are still Super Stardust HD and Pac-Man CE-DX, respectively. MagitekAngel #3 Posted March 13, 2011 Yeah, I bought IG too; it was pretty fun. Not really all that Space-Invaders-ey after the first few levels, but it's fun going back through it with different weapons (the field one is broken like Meta Knight). I think the "Nagoya attacks" are kind of stupid though.
Rex Dart #4 Posted March 14, 2011 It's pretty cool, especially when you've got some good music going, but I still prefer Galaga Legions. It at least plays somewhat similarly to the original game, and I just enjoy setting up the satellite cannons juuuust riiiight so they wipe out the incoming waves. toptenmaterial #5 Posted March 18, 2011 This game is well suited for the iPhone. The controls are very fluid, which is rare for the iPhone. I love remakes.
