Crazy Climber #1 Posted March 13, 2011 So, I have been slowly getting my Cousins game collection for sale, found literally 500 boxes but no games yet, his storage is huge!! Although I did find 2 small Sinclair computers that look rather complete with the exception of the box. Any interest in this stuff? Just want to know before I waste time testing/etc.. I'll dig out the camera if anyone is seriously interested, just let me know. Thanks! - Brian
unholy #2 Posted March 13, 2011 Expressing tentative interest... What exact models are these?
Crazy Climber #3 Posted March 13, 2011 I want to say Timex? That sounds like a watch company but I swear thats what they said, does that sound right?
unholy #4 Posted March 13, 2011 Yeah, the Sinclair machines were released in the US in cooperation with Timex. What I meant was the model number: 1000, 1500, or 2068?

Crazy Climber #7 Posted March 13, 2011 Huh. OK, let's try this, then: black case or silver case? Black, and they are small...almost funny how small they are but they are actual computers

Crazy Climber #9 Posted March 13, 2011 TS1000, then. Already got one of these. Thanks, though, and good luck selling them. Don't you want two back-ups? You know, in case your first...and second ones fail Seriously though, you seem to know a hell of a lot more about these then I do, what would be a fair "forum" price for them? Elerach #10 Posted March 13, 2011 The keyboards on those are very notorious for failing; untested, they would draw 5$ each. if the keyboards worked 100%, you could probally get close to 20$ each. By the way, if you find one that works perfectly, i'd buy one off you
unholy #11 Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) Man, don't tempt me. I already have more hardware than I know what to do with... Interestingly enough, I've never actually heard of one of these failing. They did have some overheating issues, but nothing that would cause permanent damage. Resilient buggers, they are. Then again, we're talking about an oversized calculator, really. 2KB of memory, no sound, no color, text mode only, and that atrocious membrane keyboard... In terms of price, around $20, maybe? Depends on the condition, but that's about what I've seen complete, boxed units go for most of the time. There isn't much of a market for them out there, I'm afraid. EDIT: Looks like Elerach beat me to the punch. And yes, the keyboard was definitely the weakest point. Edited March 13, 2011 by unholy
