Try to imagine Kaboom or Decathalon

 

I already feel myself becoming nauseous...

 

For Kaboom, the chair would need to look more along the lines of this:

All you have to do is pop the 5-legged-thingy off the bottom of a wheeled office chair and set the top half down on top of a regular Atari joystick. You'd still have to run a fire button up to the armrest. Probably need to reinforce the joystick housing also. And you'd better not weigh much.

 

On second thought, it might be best suited to operation in a zero gravity environment...
