HatefulGravey #1 Posted March 29, 2011 This is not a knock on those that have sold me games like this as at the end of the day I collect to play and I get great deals anyway. I do wonder why I get these from time to time. It looks like the screws in the front of the game have been removed through the label of the game for some reason. I'm guessing this has something to do with filing the pins on the game or something but I can't be sure. If someone could fill me in I would sleep better
toiletunes #2 Posted March 29, 2011 maybe someone opened it up to clean the insides? I don't know. I see this from time to time.
user42 #3 Posted March 29, 2011 Alot of these games were owned by young children at some point. As a kid I poked thru the label of a couple carts (never bothered to remove the screw).
+Random Terrain #4 Posted March 29, 2011 That image is so large I had to close the AtariAge tab because it was clogging up my computer and I couldn't get to the close thingy. You might want to resize it with something like IrfanView.

I honestly just thought the thumb nail would be enough. My bad. I should have thought of that.

Armonigann #10 Posted March 29, 2011 I think the real question should be "why do you keep BUYING games like that"? Just sayin'.
Gorfy #11 Posted March 29, 2011 Or you can click on the back arrow thingy Does that work when the pop-up image box thingy comes up? It worked for me, but maybe it depends on the computer you're using. Different computers have different thingies.

HatefulGravey #13 Posted March 29, 2011 I think the real question should be "why do you keep BUYING games like that"? Just sayin'. Normally I'm getting the kind of deal that is doesn't matter honestly. That is why I said I wasn't complaining about it, just wondering. It is also a small thing to notice in the average Atari Age for sale posting picture. If it was a rare and expensive game I would be upset. If I got it from eBay without it being mentioned I would be upset, but from Atari Age and with a good price its hard to be upset. The the label is attached and I can read it, I'm good on most things. These games are older then I am, what should I expect? I don't mind this near as much as black marker on a NES game, I freaking HATE that.

Armonigann #15 Posted March 29, 2011 I dont really mind if marker is on the cart as I can usually get that off. It's when writing is on labels that piss me off.
+atari2600land #17 Posted March 29, 2011 I couldn't care less about the quality of the label. What I care about is if the game still works or not. I have a few games with no end labels, and a couple with no front labels!

jaybird3rd #20 Posted March 29, 2011 The gender of the computer is based upon which USB dongle it has. I say that cartridge-based video game consoles and computers are all female, for reasons that are obvious when you consider how the cartridge slot works. grownup #23 Posted April 4, 2011 I hate games that have the poked open screw area, too. It makes them look like crap. Its just like User42 said. Some kid poked it witha pencil. The kid dint know that one day it would be a collectors item, etc. As for marker marks on NES games, ust put a little paint thinner on a paper towel and wipe it off. keithbk #24 Posted April 4, 2011 I'll admit I have had one or two games I could not get to work on my Atari and actually opened the case to see if I could get it to work. One was a game where the actual board became dislodged (I think the internal plastic holding the board broke) and I had to take it apart to fix it. The other would not read and I opened it to clean the contact points. That all happened probably in the mid-80's, so I'm guilty of doing it to 2 of my 300+ Atari cartridges.
