Nebulon #78 Posted February 19, 2015 My 75-year-old mother almost never swears. She also had never played a video game until very recently when I introduced her to the arcade version of Ms. Pac-Man. Imagine my surprise when she got caught by a ghost and exclaimed "That as%hole!"
CatPix #79 Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) The games that made me mad : - Silent Hill Homecoming - Silent Hill Origins. I can't think of much more games that infuriates me more than those. Sure some games made me cringe or rage at some point, but those were either bad games from the get go, or just some part in good or decent games that were just annoying. Much like the Blue shell in Mario Kart. Every time you see one coming for you, you get mad. But the whole game is awesome, so it doesn't count. Or Resident Evil 4. It's NOT a Resident Evil. I hate this kind of gameplay and after watching a playthrough, well I'll probably will never beat it. But it doesn't get me mad because it's a good game. It's just not for me. I'm a huge fan of the Silent Hill series, and no other games could dissapoint me more than those two. First, "Origins" is a lie. The game before release teased us about the hero coming and seeing the events that started the series. This take only so few seconds in the game and is forgotten right after. The only Origins you get to see in the games are from the hero, not the serie. And it's so cliché it's not interesting. So the title itself made me mad. And, for both games, the developers got it all wrong gameplay and difficulty-wise. Both games relies mostly on ridiculous QTE that kills you or leave you hurt so bad. I made a comparison : the first ennemy in Origins, on easy mode, kills you with less hits than the first ennemy in the original Silent Hill on HARD mode. Yes. That's how ridiculous the difficulty is. To sum those games up, you take all the bad point of a classic Resident Evil game, and you add all the defaults of the Silent Hill series. And you remove all the good parts. I beat Origins once, and I can't stand doing it again. I can't beat Homecoming, for it's insanely hard and the story is all but appealing. Those games for me are the Zelda CD-i games of the Silent Hill series. Edited February 20, 2015 by CatPix
