Opinions on selling my 7800?

Recommended Posts

My daughter will be born in 3 weeks, and I have decided some stuff has got to go to get essentials. My 7800 is on the chopping block. I am not sure what would be a fair asking price for all my stuff. I have seven paddles (three are 7800 long paddles) and 25 games. The system itself is in great shape and works fine. What would be a good asking price for the lot??? Thanks!

A list of the games would be great. Its hard to know what you might get without knowing what games are there. Some games are dirt cheap, some are worth a chunk.

i would pack it away for now and not sell it.you might want to play it with your child once she gets older.

IMHO this would probably do best on ebay as a buy it now. The most interesting thing you have as far as games go in there is the red label variation of Yar's Revenge and from the picture it looks a little rough to me so its probably best kept as a lot. If it were me personally I would put a buy it now of 90-100 and take offers and try to negotiate as close to 70-80 as possible.

Advance congratulations for the birth of your daughter. Are there any other goodies for sale forthcoming?

Depending on my cash flow with the new kiddo, there could be nothing or there could be large amounts of awesome games and systems for sale.

Well, either way good luck with the 7800 and the Baby.

I just paid $64 shipped for an early atari 7800 with the expansion port, a bunch of controllers, boxed 7800 and 2600 games

waited nearly a month as the seller dicked me around around on when it would ship, entered a tracking number that was no good, eventually blew me off thinking Id go away.....after filing a dispute on ebay, he finally refunded me today...no explanation whatsoever... seems the item didnt bring what he wanted so he left me hanging after payment was made. kind of pissed me off as I REALLY wanted an earlier 7800 than I have...

oh well.... I 'll just buy more 5200 stuff :)

By earlier do you just mean one with the expansion port on the side or are you looking for something serial specific? Not to overshadow OPs impending sale, but I have a couple spare 7800s, one with and one without the expansion port. PM me and maybe we can make some sort of arrangement (but I dont think I can come near the would-be deal you got refunded on ebay).

I thought it was a great deal especially for being an oddball... So to never get it was a bummer, then again i should have known better than to deal with someone with [1] positive feedback..

Truth be told I am finding that most of the 7800 carts to be sort of a let down.. Granted I dont have any of the super rarities yet...So i will probably simply stick to the 5200 and the activision 2600 games. If I find a good deal maybe I jump , but not going to get spendy. The offer is appreciated though :)
