Krytol #1 Posted December 20, 2002 I want to get together some scans of "autographed" carts, you know, the ones where some kid scrawled his name in Magic Marker across the label? I want to put them together as a page on my site. I think it would be amusing to see a collection of these defaced games. I wonder if more than one collector has a Carol Cox or a Michael Reeder. If you're interested, post scans here, or email them to me. Thanks. K
Nukey Shay #2 Posted December 20, 2002 I would say yes...you just KNOW that they are out there. Actually, I'm just as guilty when it comes to record albums. I had a HUGE collection by the time I was 12...with my name scrawled in magic marker across the fronts. Sad, really.
King Atari #3 Posted December 20, 2002 Oooh, I hate it when carts have that. I only did that like twice with SNES carts, and those weren't on the label (Goo-Gone could probably take it off). I had a Donkey Kong (I think it was) from "Sean", but I've since opened it to play with the PCB.
moycon #4 Posted December 20, 2002 Here's one. At least it's just Combat.
Krytol #5 Posted December 20, 2002 Thanks Moycon. I started the page here: "Autographed" Carts
Cupcakus #6 Posted December 20, 2002 When the NES came around, trading was just about the whole reason to have an NES... So all of my NES carts have my name, or a friends name on them... So we'd never "forget" who's carts they were :-) Unfortunetly I was young when Atari was king, so I only traded with my best bud, so no names were required... We both knew which ones were ours. But that is probably exactly why you find these carts in the wild.
+-^CrossBow^- #7 Posted December 20, 2002 hehe..I have several I can contribute... first Barn Storming Signed by "16" then Berzerk VE signed by creator "Mike Mika" then Marble Craze signed by creator "Paul Slocum" then my Zaxxon signed by "Carter' Then the worst is my Track N Field signed by someone who went by the name of "Seaman". I have gotten what I could of that sharpie off..but not all...you can see it below... I have several other carts that are signed by the actual creators such as the homebrews above. But I haven't scanned them in yet. Once I do...I will provide those as well...if interested...

What the hell, let's see everything. I have some 'signed' NES carts now that I think of it...
Krytol #10 Posted December 20, 2002 Thanks for the scans, guys. Here's what we have so far: "Autographed" Carts Keep them coming!
Xot #11 Posted December 20, 2002 It might take me a while to go through everything, and I'm at work now anyways so I can't get them to you tonight. But among others I know I have Super Breakout, Mr. Do, and Karate all with writing on them, and I know there's more, I just have to find them. Most of the SNES/Genny carts I have have "P" written on them by Electronics Boutique to indicate 'preowned,' but I imagine you don't want all those... I'll see what I can dig up. mvigor #12 Posted December 20, 2002 I have quite a few from "Brubaker", who alternatively used his first name as well or sometimes just a "B". I also have one with Jerry Halford's return-address label on the back. I'll get scans up, but it will be quite a while.
IceCold #13 Posted December 20, 2002 It really freaked me out when I saw that Sequest signed by "Warner" until I realized why it seemed so familiar, that's one I traded to you!

IceCold #15 Posted December 20, 2002 I'm pretty sure the Bowling cart is from me too. I love getting rid of my somewhat bad condition carts and getting better ones, I now have a Bowling with great label and a Seaquest with no writing, instead of that crap I traded to you But, at least they work. sku_u #17 Posted December 20, 2002 I have a Star Raiders cart with LAHR written across it in huge letters. If I can ever get my scanner to work again, I'll post it up here. Other than that, my carts are pretty autograph free.
+-^CrossBow^- #18 Posted December 20, 2002 hehe...a few 7800 games with some autographs on them... I actually know who defiled these carts way back when...but I will plead the 5th on the grounds that I could incriminate myself...hehe... Pole Position II signed by "Totally Rad" Then my Rampage cart signed by a Red Triangle and a nifty Lightning Bolt... Okay..that's all for now...I was looking in my other carts..such as Coleco...and NES...SNES...and found nothing else for now. I know I have a few autographs on some Genesis carts...but I have too many of those to look through them all right now.. enjoy...
