isatonmyhat
First item in question: a model 1 Genesis at value village, with cords, one genesis controller, and one therd part controller. A bit dirty, no box. Any help would be great.
SlowCoder
Based on what I've seen in the market recently, probably $10-$15+shipping. Those are entering the "junk from the basement" phase of their lives, and there are tons of them. If it's the one with "high definition", possible a tad more. Koopa64
Yeah, $15 or so, but the amount of great games a Genesis can provide is priceless. People need to start appreciating the Genesis more, it is one of the true underdogs in video gaming.
+save2600
Is Value Village like a GoodWill or Salvation Army? If so, I've seen Genesis I systems there for $5 before. On two to three different occasions. They were all beat to hell, so I passed on 'em. BTW: I don't think of the Genny as an "underdog" of gaming. A lot of people like the system and collect for it. Tons of great games for sure. For years, I maintained a pretty healthy SNES collection, only to sell it all in the mid 2000's. Having gotten back into the Genesis, I can honestly say that game for game, I'm more impressed with what they managed to squeeze out of that system than the SNES. Not entirely hot on its sound capabilities, but there some games that really shine and there's definitely a "signature" sound to be associated with the Genesis. Like it, love it or hate it I guess. BTW: I'm still looking for a nice Genesis I, boxed if possible. PM if you have such a beast. Edited April 17, 2011 by save2600
JerryTerrifying
On my craigslisst I see Genesis go for as little as $5 and usually no more than $15. In one day on craigslist I got 3 Genesis and 30 complete games (Gunstar Heroes and Kid Chameleon being the only ones I cared about) for $30 bucks. PsychoKittyNet
Twenty bucks. What's a value village? An awesome thrift chain. Owned by Savers methinks.
zylon
I'd be thinking $10.
DickNixonArisen
I have five genny's already, so ten would be my limit. I have paid as little as two dollars for a complete system. Had I none, I would go as high as twenty if it appeared to be in good shape (left-in-a-box dust dirt, or ground-in wear dirt?)
