Animan #26 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Huge Sonic fan here! Why has no one mentioned Sonic Triple Trouble, or Tails Adventure? Play them now! Also, if you haven't played Sonic CD yet, you are MISSING OUT. I sometimes wish all Sonic games today would keep the same style/tone of Sonic CD instead of Sonic 2's cartoony style. akator #27 Posted June 19, 2011 I was in my 20s when Sonic was released, and even as an adult it was outright stunning. The Game Gear version was amazing, especially for a handheld. While I appreciate the sequels, they can never match the excitement, discovery, and fun I experienced from playing both the Genesis and Game Gear versions of the first game. Algus #29 Posted June 19, 2011 I was gonna say "No love for Sonic CD?!" but I see Animan has got this covered. I slightly preferred the level design and music of Sonic 1 over Sonic 2 and I definitely liked the special zones in Sonic 1 more than Sonic 2. As much as I like Blue Sphere and love how Sonic 1 unlocks a giant blue sphere game, I wish they had been able to actually put Knuckles into Sonic 1. It is a shame we had to wait for a rom hack to get that option.
Koopa64 #30 Posted June 19, 2011 Sonic 1, 2, 3, Knuckles and CD... It's all good. .... But IMO Sonic 1 isn't as good as the others.
Bloodreign #31 Posted June 19, 2011 Years and years ago I didn't care for the Sonic games, took me until 1999 or 2000 to get all of his Genesis games, and in 2010 I finally got Sonic CD and Sonic Mega Collection +. Needless to say I like is games from the 16 bit era now, some great stage design they have.
