Woot Sellout has the Flashback 2 for $24.99 today (4/26)

Recommended Posts

What's the difference between the 2 and 2+?

Never mind, found the answer on Wikipedia. Looks like we don't need to trade up.

The bulk of the included games in the Atari Flashback 2+ are the same. However, Pitfall, River Raid, Wizard, Caverns of Mars, and Atari Climber have been removed. In return a sports section has been added in replacement, that includes Realsports Boxing, Realsports Soccer, Super Baseball, Super Football, and Double Dunk.

These aren't by chance pirate FlashBacks like the incident we had not to long ago, is it?

Not if they're 2+'s they shouldn't be, those are the ones we did a run of last year. Either way I ordered one just to make sure.

Any chance someone stateside could get one or two for me and forward them? I will obviously pay all the costs.

The woot site won't accept my order even though I have an account. I guess they won't ship to the UK

I ordered 2 after reading about the mods - I know I'm late to the party, should be fun.

FYI if they charge you tax I used the coupon code TAXSUCKS to get a $5 reduction.

I should mod mine... its no longer a complete Flashback 2, due to the CX 41's snapping in half.

Complete with the Harmony cart and I have myself a perfect portable little atari. :)

Its a very first version though... I should have snagged one of these up, aren't these supposed to be more compatible with games?

For those modding your FB2+, I modded mine and I found that one of the pads did not have the proper signal. I had to scrape the soldermask from the board and solder a wire to a 10 mil trace to get it to work.

I've only modded one, so I don't know if this is an issue with all of them or just specific to mine, but be warned.

I posted a pic of the mod and the place where you solder to the trace, but I can't be bothered to look for it now. It shouldn't be hard to find, though.

There is no difference in compatibility between the 2 and 2+ - both will have problems with Atari games that use extra RAM.

Thanks for the warning

Not quite accurate. As stated he has a first version of the FB2, (Rev A) I'm assuming. The Rev C of the FB2 (which is also the one used in the 2+) is more compatible than the Rev A.

That's correct... the voice on Quadrun doesn't work. :)

Someone out there is not paying attention to this topic as a brand new one on Ebay is at the $60.00 mark right now and there is still an hour left to bid.

Stupid people! They need to do some searching and shopping first. LOL

I found it here:

Scroll up to find your photo of the patch on the trace to pad 20

Has anyone else tried to mod a FB2+? If so, can you respond so we confirm if every one of them requires this repair to pad 20?
