What is a Atari Mega ST worth?

I have been looking at Atari ST computers lately and happened to notice the Atari Mega models, While I do like the looks and separate keyboard(reminds me of the Amiga 1000) I was wondering what are people's opinion of it and is it worth the price to get one over the other ST models. Also most importantly and what I want to know the most is how much do they usually sell for, what is a good price.

Fairly expensive I would think and very hard to find as well. Probably $300 and up. Probably not that many sold.

 

Was expensive new in the range of $1,200 when they were on the market.

What is the difference between a Mega ST and a Mega 2. I recently found a Atari Mega 2 complete in box on ebay for 40 dollars so far(still has 2 days to go), the only thing is it is from England so I have a feeling shipping would probably be expansive.

Thanks, so then is 40 dollars a good price for a boxed model that comes with all the original parts. Of course then there is the price for a voltage converter plus Pal adopter or monitor all together.

If memory serves, the keyboard is now a pretty hard to obtain part for the Mega series computers. Id say $40 is a steal if its got a good keyboard.

Another important thing to know about the Mega series is that there is no FM modulator present. You have to have an Atari monitor to use it for the colour resolutions (ST Low & ST Medium). You can get an adapter that will let you connect a VGA monitor to it but it will only work in monochrome high resolution mode.
