+SpiceWare #2 Posted April 27, 2011 I only found one of the hidden rooms, the one with . I loved the whole retro aspect of the middle part of the game. The changing Apeture logo over the decades, the look of the test chamber with the nixie tube looking lights to show the button-action connection. The hilarious posters, such as Karla the Complainer Says... And of course, the paint! Never would have expected to join forces with a potato battery powered GLaDOS I loved the Wheatley levels and how they were just getting mashed together all the time. And for the finale - <Ralph Kramden>To the moon!</Ralph Kramden> Anyhow time for bed.
Video #3 Posted April 30, 2011 Yeah the game is awesome. The moon shot was indeed cool, and a fitting end to wheatley. Yep, stuck in limbo with the space core forever I found the singing turrets room too, after playing through a few times, I tried to get trough one time without destroying any turrets (don't know if that's possible everywhere though) and tried to get through while destroying all the turrets. Wasn't expecting the one hiding in the vent to blow the wall out, and now that makes me think I should go through and try to put turrets next to other walls and blow them up too I've found a few other of the "escapee's" rooms too. one of them, if you find it while in "commentator" mode, it has one of those bubbles in it that just plays something that sounds like computer code tones or something, wonder what was up with that? And I'd agree the paint is cool, that's one of the coolest addons to the new game, and really adds a lot to the game. I liked the frankenboxes though, the ones Wheatley made to play the games without the player Their cool. Oh, and some spotsin the game where it's obviously a bad Idea to do something, do it for achievements, some are funny too, like going back to the crushing spike plate after escaping, what GLaDOS says is funny there. Anyhow, great game, I'm definitely going to play through a few more times, then I'm going to have to see about hooking up to someone online to play some of the multiplayered games. Wouldn't mind playing with someone here, but most of my friends wouldn't know a good game if it stomped their nuts flat.
+SpiceWare #4 Posted April 30, 2011 I've found a few other of the "escapee's" rooms too. one of them, if you find it while in "commentator" mode, it has one of those bubbles in it that just plays something that sounds like computer code tones or something, wonder what was up with that? I found a with that when I was searching for the singing turret one I linked to. The tones are images sent via Slow Scan Television (SSTV). You can see them decoded here. When they updated Portal 1 with the new ending, they also added radios to the levels that also broadcast SSTV or morse code. You can see those all deciphered here. AtariDude #5 Posted May 1, 2011 Did you get a cake for finishing the game?
moycon #6 Posted May 4, 2011 I didn't get any cake.
+SpiceWare #7 Posted May 4, 2011 No cake, though they did explain why in the game as the cake recipe is shown scrambled on a monitor. Most likely due to the destruction at the end of P1, though it could also have been due to the ravages of time as seen by the state of the test chambers. moycon #8 Posted May 4, 2011 I was hoping there would be a song at the end, and I wasn't disappointed. Unfortunately I thought it paled in comparison to the first one.
