youki #26 Posted May 1, 2011 (edited) If it's based on what I've done for him but not used yet, I have a very good idea what is the 2-players game he is talking about. No, it is not that one. The one you think is a 2 player game but there is already the one player mode with the I.A (that i'm very busy to improve). and it is almost finished. I was just talking about an idea i had for another game , lot of more original. Edited May 1, 2011 by youki

rhindlethereddragon #28 Posted May 2, 2011 Yesterday, i had an idea of a Original 2 player game ( player VS player ). I think the game could be very fun to play. But thinking about how to implement I.A to simulate the 2nd player when played alone make me thing : 1 - it will take me lot of time to implement a decent I.A . 2 - it will consume lot of cartridge space that could have been used for better graphics , sound and animation. 3 - the IA part is not fun to develop. (i'm currently working on I.A of my new "coming soon" game and that's not the more pleasant part of the development). So my question , would you be interrested in 2 player only games ? Please respond to the poll. And subsidiary question for publisher only : Would you publish a 2 players only game? Videogames were a godsend to me since I was an only child and couldn't play with games like the ouija board or Mousetrap by myself. I never appreciated when there was never a 1 player option, and I don't like it now, even though I do have someone to play with, you still have to be able to play 1 player. That is my opinion. Brockolye #29 Posted May 4, 2011 Judging from the poll results so far...it looks like none of us have many friends besides the Colecovision.
newcoleco #30 Posted May 4, 2011 I do have friends, and I've voted yes. It doesn't change the fact that an A.I., even if not challenging enough, is more appreciated than forcing a 2-players mode. That's the lesson I've took from my own experience of making a 2-players only ColecoVision minigame years ago.
ColecoDan #31 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) No laughing matter there especially since I will probably end up buying it as I don't feel like waiting and hoping to see if one comes up on eBay and then get into a bidding war. BTW, does anyone know if Kevin made these carts himself or if someone else like Sean Kelly or Joe Santulli assembled them. I ask this only because from everything I am reading (old forum threads), there is an above normal failure rate with carts assembled by Sean (MultiCarts) and Joe... just picked up a Ms. Space Fury from Joe/Digital Press and as feared the cart is dead even though he said in the auction listing that all was good. As he stated to me, he was learning the skill of soldering back when these were produced and the cart probably got banged around enough in the mail to loosen the solder. Well you scared me into checking my Kevtris cart and it seems to be screwed up so it is possible that he did create the carts and they are error prone. The screen takes forever to get it to work usually comes up with the colecovision screen when I finally got it to work it started up and then after a minute it crashed and I haven't been able to get a stable enough start to try and play it again. Do we know anyone who knows how to fix these things. I wouldn't mind the lable with a screw hole and a cut at the seam if I could get the cart to work again. That would be better than a messed up cart. If it is a soldering issue, I will repair it for free for you Dan. Just wanted the world to know that Yurkie saved a piece of history and even did an awesome job saving the Kevtris label with no cuts or holes needed for the repair. Your the BEST Yurkie. I played this for hours last week!!!! Edited May 24, 2011 by ColecoDan
ozma wars #32 Posted June 30, 2011 so, topic is dead and I already gave my vote and my opinion.........anyway I am curious to know which kind of a game you were working on. Curious about it. Are you still working on that ? --- I remember a very basic tank game I was used to play with a friend on my Commodore64, sorry I don't remember the name. It was Commando/Front Line type and 1 player the driver and other player at the rotating gun/turret. When played alone you had possibility to choose the role you wanted. Graphics were not important but was amusing enough. A cart like that I could convince my daughter to play with me 10 minutes in a year....

I remember a tank.... then Jackal when played alone drive AND fire...the game I remember if played alone : if you drive, gun automatically fire right left up down and so on, if you fire thank automatically and very slowly go up trying to avoid enemy firing and obstacles....
