S1500 #1 Posted May 12, 2011 So I was going through MS GameRoom on my Xbox, and noticed that the Venetian Blinds demo by Activision was for sale. Not only, that it has "mild violence" according to the ESRB. Why the heck would they charge for this? There's even a description about it. So I doubt they just took a batch of Activision games & gave them to MS to process for sale. Someone actually had to hand this over. Funny. Still, not as tragic as some of the games on XBLA are "demo only" and have no purchase option, and some have nothing at all(no purchase, no demo). Why even bother listing it?
Crazy Climber #2 Posted May 12, 2011 Yeah, I thought selling VB via download was a little silly too, maybe if you download it you get a discription/history/etc..?

CPUWIZ #4 Posted May 12, 2011 The violence will occur, once you find out what you paid for.
flammingcowz #5 Posted May 12, 2011 There is a classic gaming room for the 360, with lots of different systems from atari, intellivision, to nes. If you have it downloaded, you can make a virtual arcade with games from systems, including buying those.
NE146 #6 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Yep.. we've all seen this ("Venetian Blinds" demo for purchase) and thought it ridiculous. Obviously someone is asleep at the helm for letting it go through. "OH YEAH ATARI 2600 GAMES JUST PUT IT RIGHT IN THAT FOLDER AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD, PRICE IT AT FEW BUCKS. ...NEXT!" Tempest #7 Posted May 12, 2011 Dude, you haven't lived until you've played Venetian Blinds in multi-player mode. It's awesome! I'm racking up those achievements like mad! Just got 'Open Blinds' for 50 points! Tempest
SeaGtGruff #8 Posted May 12, 2011 I think you all must be mistaking "Venetian Blinds" for "Venetian Blinds." The one is a very exciting demo that permits you to raise and lower Venetian Blinds. The other is a very exciting game where you are a gondalier who must row furiously back and forth trying to catch Venetian Blinds in your gondola to save them from drowning in the Canal Grande after they accidentally step off the Rialto Bridge. The "mild violence" rating is due to the scenes of bubbles coming up from the water when you fail to catch one of the Venetian Blinds-- not unlike the Smurf drowning scene in "Rescue in Gargamel's Castle," although that game successfully evaded the "mild violence" rating because Smurfs are imaginary .
