Dreammary #9951 Posted April 15, 2011 I agree, I have never heard of anyone owning Splatterhouse on TG-16. Very hard to come by, also you probably saved around $50+ total on your finds. Very cool!
Reaperman #9952 Posted April 15, 2011 I've had some interesting imported Goodwill finds though the years. As for today... NES Arkanoid & Vaus controller (haven't been able to test it yet) and TG16 Splatterhouse-$10 total at a thrift. Game Boy King James Bible-$4.99 at a Goodwill. Splatterhouse (or just about any TG-16) is a damn fine thrift find. But the arkanoid controller is what really does it for me. King James too. Splatterhouse is rare in the wild, and I'd snap it right up too, but the others .
nightwheel #9953 Posted April 16, 2011 I got Star Trek: The Movie Collection on VHS for $1.50. The Voyage Home is still factory sealed in plastic.
STICH666 #9954 Posted April 16, 2011 I have Splatterhouse on the TG16 as well. It's a great port.
AtariLeaf #9955 Posted April 16, 2011 Nothing too special but I did pick up an N64 Cruisin Exotica cart for $5 loose. I love some of these N64 racers.

+thegoldenband #9957 Posted April 17, 2011 Bought five Game Boy games at a convention today for a little under $10, which was a nice deal. I got Hatris, Chase H.Q., Alleyway, F-1 Race, and Bart Simpson's Escape from Camp Deadly. I've been enjoying the old-school monochrome Game Boy lately, especially via my Super Game Boy. I also bought four loose N64 games (Banjo-Kanzooie, Banjo-Tooie, Aero Fighters Assault, and Waialae Country Club) at a local Play-N-Trade earlier this week, for a little under $18 total. Not a steal, but still a good price for the two Banjo games.

I was surprised at my Play N Trade that they had a large table of penny titles (buy one get one for a penny) I got a few great classics, 1 Genesis title, 4 Playstation 1 titkes, and then got to pick same price PS3, and 360 games, for a penny! Picked up a Street Fighter IV, Pure, Red Alert, Monster Madness, and Ratatooie. AX
Dreammary #9959 Posted April 17, 2011 Yet another Atari Flashback 2... via Craigslist under the free category. I went and picked it up about a hour ago. I will likely now use this one and keep my boxed mint condition (Formally new unused until I opened it... Now I wish I hadn't opened it.) but oh well. Or I will take it's controllers for my Atari 2600 and just give the free Flashback to a friend with a set of my spare Master System control pads. AtariLeaf #9960 Posted April 17, 2011 Vaus controller I've always wondered if it was possible or if anyone had ever converted a set of 2600 paddles to work on the NES as a Vaus controller for Arkanoid?

Pretty sure the NES vaus is a variable resistor. AX
Dreammary #9962 Posted April 17, 2011 The inside of a Vaus has a knob that has a piece of metal that scratchs 2 lines and completes s current. I took apart one that I had from childhood... It was busted.

SRGilbert #9964 Posted April 18, 2011 Well, it's good to get back in the swing of things. This weekend is usually the start of the yard sale season around here, but bad weather put the brakes on that. We were out of town anyway, but I managed to get some goodies. When I'm out of town and have free time, I always check the local Craigslist just in case. Picked up a complete Battlestation II joystick controller for $50! This thing is awesome, and I think I'll pay tribute to it in the Classic Games forum when I get a chance. The local Goodwill had a couple of controllers worth picking up - a Super Pad 64 plus for N64, and a SNES Turbo Touch 360, $5 each. At one game store I picked up a copy of Space Harrier 3D for the SMS, boxed but no manual - $5 At another I got a couple of Sega Genesis controller extention cords for only $1.99 each (I buy these whenever I see them, so handy for so many systems.) Also picked up a buttload of game manuals I needed for $1 each. In case you were wondering, at buttloads is 33. Was particularly happy that a half dozen or so were manuals for Atari 8-bit games, including Miner 2049er. Last items for the weekend were from a local CL ad - NES Deluxe set minus an actual NES, meaning it's the Robot, Zapper, documents, ect. Sadly, I didn't notice at the time that it was missing the little brackets that hold the controller and the gyros, but he thinks he might have them, and will let me know. Jaguar Team Tap - I have NO idea why I bought this, I only have two controllers, I don't ever play my Jag, and I don't know 4 people who would be willing to play with me, much less WANT to. And my first 2600 Heavy Sixer, console only, nothing else. Was pretty grubby, but I think she will clean up nice for me. Got this whole lot (NES, Team Tap and H6r) for $120. Considering I've been looking for a ROB for years, I'm happy. I'll be happier if he finds those parts though!
Shephda #9965 Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Well we have a cold and blustery day Sunday so the Flea Markets were pretty much bare. Did find for the NES: Skate or Die, and Flight of the Intruder for $2.00 each. Also found a nice copy of the Super NES Strategy guide for $1.00 hope foe better weather next week. Itchy Koala #9966 Posted April 18, 2011 Not thrift, but thrifty. These were from the Gamestop buy 2 get 2 sale.

I was surprised at my Play N Trade that they had a large table of penny titles (buy one get one for a penny) Wow, no, they didn't have that! Would've been terribly tempting if they had. They do have a buy-2-get-1-free sale going on most of the time, so I took advantage of that.

Dreammary #9973 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Today, I received my pre-order of Socom 4: Full Deployment Edition for PS3, its a thrift of sorts because the full set is a savings of $70+ if you were to buy what it contains separately. You will probably never believe it, but I found a TurboGraphics with Splatterhouse and a half-dozen other games just lying out in the street in St. Louis one day. Works great! It's a nice little system--I'll be honest, I had never heard of it, and it surprised me to find it (almost as if it had just been pitched from a car window in a grocery bag). None of the games are my particular cup of tea. Don't really know if I will keep it or put it up on Ebay...been hanging on to it for a few years now. UPDATE: Here's what games it had: Legendary Axe with case and insert Alien Crush with case and insert Takin' it to the Hoop with case and insert Splatterhouse with case and insert Keith Courage in Alpha zones with case and insert Then it had the following manuals (no cases or games): Victory Run Space Harriers Blazing Lazers Edited April 22, 2011 by keithbk
