Chuck D. Head
$20.50 (shipped) off of ebay. (link). According to the auction, it is working, but the crack is probably what kept the price low. A lot more usable than some pricier ones I was looking at. The crack appears largely superficial to me. Well, if it works I think that is a real good score. Let us know when you test it out. number six
Honestly on the SMS 3-D Glasses it's the card adapter that's key. If your glasses are non-functional you can swap in shutter glasses from those 3-D DVD (not bluray) sets that came out a few years back. They are compatible surprisingly. I'm thinking about going that route anyway. LCD shutters appear larger on aftermarket glasses and from what I hear, the SMS glasses run a bit small, and my head runs quite fat. Perhaps that's why so many of them have physical breakage problems like ear pieces coming off. I was looking at $10-15 just for the 3d adapter anyway, so $20, if I indeed got a fully working one, is very nice.

Pretty superficial, can only be seen on the outside and doesn't really effect the usage. The glasses were new (came with my 3-D Package system) so i think they just are prone to getting cracks over time. They definitely aren't that comfortable. When I found out that the 3D glasses that came with the DVD set were compatible I just started using those instead. They are a lot more comfortable. The 3D with the shutter glasses does work surprisingly well and was pretty cool. Too bad they only made a handful of games that supported it. thegamezmaster
Stopped at a garage sale and picked up a cobalt greay gba sp AGS-101 with the back lit screen for $10. Took it home, charged it up and it worked! Congrats on the Dark Tower game, fun to play! Edited October 13, 2012 by thegamezmaster
Asaki
The backlit one I found is the blue one...it's not a very manly color, if you ask me @_@ I'd love it if it were white instead, but I get the feeling that taking it apart and painting it with Krylon Fusion would probably be more trouble than it's worth. I know people have taken the Fusion to controllers before, but I wonder how well it holds up...

+thegoldenband
Whoa, that's basically an instant collection, and in beautiful shape! Very nice indeed. Do you mind if I ask how much it all was?
Grig
$350 - so it works out to about $3.50 per item. Not too bad I think. Some of the items more than make up for the price and the trip. Of course I will sell a few things but I actually was looking for many of those Activision titles CIB. Plus, a few of the Atari games are a bit hard to find CIB like the Fun With Numbers game. I stayed for a storage auction too - that was a great time. Didn't buy any units but it was still fun. Oh yeah - it was 76 today so a great day for being on the road. Cebus Capucinis
Nice score! You can probably make back that $350 alone over time just on those sealed Journey Escapes.
Grig
Yeah, that's the plan as of right now. I'll keep one but I certainly don't need more than that. I found only two completed listings on evilbay though for JE sealed - I think one went for $30 and one went for $10 - not sure if $20 in the middle is a more correct price but I'll do some more research. A few of the JE boxes I got are beat to hell and one even looks like some critter used the bottom of it for lunch AND dinner!
Seob
very nice find. those boxed games always look sonice and colorful. I only have a few boxed games, since space is limited, but would love to come across such a deal.
SoulBlazer
Makes you wonder, how the hell did he end up with 17 copies of Journey Escapes, most of them sealed? The game wasn't that good.
Grig
Yeah - "Don't Stop Believing" in wonderful 2600 music - EPIC FAIL. The guy said he got everything at a yard sale about 5 years ago along with a bunch of sports memorabilia and it sat in his garage ever since. SRGilbert
Been too lazy to post every week, so here are my meager finds for the past month or two: Tomy brand Pac-Man Magnetic Maze game. Completely mechanical game where the stick tilts the board around and the little guys are on rollers. It's not 100% complete, but it was free! Original model PSP with 10 games, 3 movies, 4GB stick, backpack case, ect. In excellent condition, only $25 for the set at a yard sale. Wipeout Pure for PSP, CIB - $2 thrift store Spindizzy Worlds with manual and weird NES Quickshot controller $3.00 for both at a yard sale. At same sale I also picked up a Star Trek Enterprise pizza cutter with box for only $1! It's normally $20 at Thinkgeek. Sears Telegames Pong Sports II with manual - $8.00 at an antique store, really nice too. Fairchild Channel F System II with very rough box - $25.00 at an antique store. System looks to be in good shape, powers on to boot screen, but wont load the built in games. No carts to test further, yet....... Oh, this was a nice find: at yet another antique store, I see a big box for Lethal Enforcers for the Sega Genesis. Now, I know this comes with the blue gun for player one, but I already have that. So, as I'm opening the box and slide out the tray, I'm chanting "pink gun, pink gun, pink gun..." and lo and behold, it's the player two PINK GUN! I literally changed it from the blue gun to the pink gun WITH THE POWER OF MY MIND. Oh, and it was $15 for the set. Let see, at a Goodwill, I found a bunch of GB and GBA Pokemon games - GB, Red, Blue and Silver, and GBC Crystal, as well as GBA Ruby, Sapphire, 2 copies of LeafGreen. Amazingly, they were only $1.99 each (at a Goodwill?!) and they weren't locked up, just on a shelf. These should net me a nice little profit! That's all the game stuff for now. I've found some cool non-game stuff I'll post later.

Just know switching cases is a pain, with the getting the hinges in just right. I don't know, I think they're about equally bad. Though I was looking, and it seems there was a Pearl Green released overseas that doesn't look too bad. Also a Pearl White (don't know if it's a Brighter Screen one or not), but it looks like it was a bundle exclusive. And hard to tell if I even like it or not from the pics. I didn't think about case swapping, that might be an idea...except I wouldn't be willing to pay more than a few dollars for the parts to do so... Pink is very manly. Not the Pearl Pink they released...yuck. I bet even a lot of girls didn't like it.
SRGilbert
Fortunately, the brighter screen also comes in a dark charcoal grey. My wife has the blue one though, she hated the pink one!

Unfortunately not much market for Laserdiscs anymore. Other than the odd rare disc most are worth about what you paid for those. Actually if I could get $2 for the 1,000 or so I still have I think i'd be quite happy. Last time I sold a big lot i ended up getting around 75 cents a disc. Considering these were $30-$50 new each.. ouch! Learned me a lesson though, never hoard a movie format. Just buy the odd title you really, really like and netflix the rest! Still kind of a neat find at a yard sale. Always interesting to find the odd old video format. I was actually at a Goodwill today at lunch and mixed in with the CDs they had a few discs marked 'Divx' with professionally printed covers. At first I thought the chinese bootleggers had finally upgraded from VCD but then it struck me.. no, these are DIVX discs.. ie the original DIVX from the late 90s. And yep, circuit city price sticker still on it and everything. I had totally forgotten about that format. Given these discs are absolutely useless now (and have been useless since DIVX died and they shut the servers down a year or two later) it makes you wonder who had these for all this time and just now decided to donate them to goodwill? Why didn't they just check them back in '01 or whatever? Another Goodwill in my area has a stack of CEDs they're trying to get $8 a pop for.. funny what you find sometimes. +FujiSkunk
Learned me a lesson though, never hoard a movie format. Just buy the odd title you really, really like and netflix the rest! I'd say the lesson learned is, don't think of your movie collections as investments, because a better format will always be around the corner. Personally I still prefer discs in case the Internet goes down or some company decides they don't want to play with Netflix anymore. Blu-rays are already getting dirt cheap for old classics, more so if you play the sales or buy them used, and of course the DVD format becoming an also-ran just makes DVD's even cheaper! Bad news for any would-be investors, but great news for movie fans.
