Grig
So ... that N64 I found at Goodwill for $25 - it works great. I took out the expansion pack and put in a regular jumper pack (so I have an extra expansion pack just in case) and i traded it to a co-worker. He said he found a WCW cartridge and really wanted an N64 again to play it. I told him i had one and he said he has some wii gaming stuff he does not use anymore so we agreed to a trade. He said he will bring the games next week as they are all in a box in the garage (including some Xbox 360 games) but he did give me this: and yes it has both power supplies and the A/V cables. I can't wait to see what games he has. I thought it was going to be another white wii (which would be okay). Stunned I am. then I found these at a local thrift store today: yes it has the expansion pak. $20. LOL it all worked out. I did not expect to find this. both controllers are in good shape and the PS2 game is in good condition too. $17. A little pricey but I really wanted the controllers. Plus the thrift store is local and they support Christian Missions so it was okay in my book. I have yet to plug it in to the TV so I don't know which version it is. $4 Looks good, has the cardboard insert as well. The battery compartment is a bit corroded but I can fix that. $1

Tanooki
I haven't seen a random and so nice spread of old goodies from the last century and for totally fair prices too. Very lucky. I did find a handheld a few days ago I wanted bad I once had, a deal compared to what it goes for, but a little more than all that stuff cost he got. So I had to again sell something for the justification to keep it but it's worth it. That's why I didn't bring it up or show a pic, kind of pointless.
Asaki
I saw two Atari 8-bit games at Goodwill today, mixed in with the VHSes, but I didn't grab them because my tape drive doesn't work. I was almost tempted to get them just because the cases were pretty nice. They had Darts, and one of the British Heritage Jigsaw Puzzles volumes. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-darts_1520.html http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-british-heritage-jigsaw-puzzles-vol-2_6529.html I didn't even realize these games were PAL, I guess they would've done me no good anyway. But I did grab a two-VHS copy of The Deer Hunter, and some "100 Years" VHS our newspaper put out in 2000, might be interesting. I also bought one of those woodgrain VHS drawer cases, figured it might be a good idea.
icemanxp300
SWEET! I woke up last night at 4 AM, my boy got up and I had to use the bathroom and get a drink and yeah I was up. So I do what I always do when I get woken up at 4AM, crazy searches on craigslist. I searched Sega and found this bad boy for $30. The picture he posted was fuzzy he said it was wrinkled and it looked like it had tears in it. He OBVIOSLY took a picture with a 10 ear old phone. Lets just say I was amazed at how nice this thing is. The wrinkles are barely wrinkles and nothing on a 25 year old banner. This thing is almost perfect condition. It does seem to have what appears to be a line of pen on the one side (through HAM in Champions.) which I can probably get off. The Velcro date strip has rolled a bit but damn you are not getting this much nicer. This thing is HUGE, I never expected it to be so big it is 35"x26". I just so happened to have a factory sealed Eternal Champions kicking around so I tossed it in the pic to show how big this banner is. My wife asked me this morning if I was going to sell it. I said no, not this item. I don't sell extremely rare hard to find promo items like this. Rare games are one thing. Stuff like this I keep it all! Eternal Champions Sega Genesis Display Promotional Promo Wall Scroll Banner ...
Eltigro
So the guy that gave me the Master System games, SNES Game Genie, and NES Excitebike game a while back came over for dinner tonight and brought a tub of stuff from his mom's house. He gave me: SNES Genesis model 2 NES front loader Master System rf adapter Mad Catz rf switch (multi-system of Playstation, XBox, and Gamecube) another random 3rd party rf switch another NES AC Adapter (NES-002 model number) 2 SNES controllers 1 Genesis controller Issue 110 of Game Informer magazine (June 2002, Tony Hawk Pro Skater on the cover) The SNES and Genesis seem to work, but haven't plugged controllers in to fully test them yet. Haven't tested controllers yet, either. The Genesis had some random lock washer rattling around inside it (not part of the Genesis). Took that out and it fired up fine. The SNES seemed to work fine, too, but will definitely need a cleaning. The NES gave me the blinking light thing. I haven't investigated further yet, so who knows. All three systems have rf and AC adapters. The others that I listed above were extra. There was also an original GameBoy in the box with a Final Fantasy game still in it (didn't see exactly which one it was) and an external battery pack for the GameBoy, but he said he didn't realize that was still in there and wanted to keep it. (Darn!) I didn't argue with him since I was still getting a great deal. He said he'd had all this stuff for a while and knew he would never get around to trying to sell it or anything, so he just gave it to me. I'll probably give him more than I did, because this was really a steal. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some alcohol swabs calling my name. lol Edited February 8, 2018 by Eltigro

Eltigro
That's a nice looking SNES case/shell color, whenever I find them they are sooooo nasty brown. Yep. Needs a good cleaning though. Dusty and looks like there was something splashed on the back... soda or something? Don't have the right bit to open it, but the outside and what I can reach inside the cart slot will get a good swabbing. One of the controllers has a crack on the side... I can just imagine a rage quitting controller throw. lol Going to test the controllers tonight.
Tanooki
This isn't game related but I found something so cool today for 99 cents at the goodwill I figured I'd bring it up. Have any of you ever heard of Artec from Japan who do BlockRobo? I have no idea why a Japanese toy with the box and everything all in that language showed up there but it did. Block Robo BT kit # 153161 It's basically a 3 wheel 2 optional eye add on trike robo that is 100% push button programmable for L/R/Forward motion. They're modular in a way like Lego and stuff so you can buy normal block kits (non robo) or robo and snap together creations on top of it to make other things with the 2 motors given. You basically have to assemble the entire thing short of soldering pieces to the board itself all onto the body. There are print out things you can do to get more advanced and get more in depth with. They have far larger more complex stuff with remote controls like a big T-Rex among others. The T-Rex you can actually do some basic push button 'coding' for much like that current 'build a NES game' kickstarter that was well over funded. http://www.artec-kk.co.jp/btp_rhas the manual, remove the btp_r and put in en for an english much smaller site. I couldn't get very far with the manual without having to really translate it, but got lucky on google and found this english video with a single motor version of the kit I found that shows how to do it. This is the actual kit I found: https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/fujix/item/4803053161/
Asaki
Finally went thrifting today...I guess the first place I went to had a bit of a downgrade, because everyone works as a volunteer now, and they surprised me by announcing the the store was closing at 5 instead of 7 =/ So I didn't even get to look through the CDs. I did get two DVDs though, including Waking Life, which I really wanted to see. Went to two other thrifts, got a few books and some VHS tapes, including one that was a "preview" for Arachnophobia. A movie review screener copy, maybe? I'd never seen anything like that in the wild before. Saw a Yamaha YPR-8 keyboard for $40, but I wanted to research it first...yeah, I don't think I'm going back for it =) Does have a neat chorus effect on it, though.
Eltigro
Two antique stores, the local Goodwill, and another charity thrift store, and this was the only video game related item I saw. It's a lenticular art thing, so that's why it looks like it does in the photo... I didn't buy it.

icemanxp300
Wow did I just make a good buy. Doing simple craigslist searches last night and I typed in "Nintendo". I came across a listing that had been on for 24 days 25 if you count today. It had 1 picture and listed 12 games w/manuals, the price was $195. At first glance it didn't look like much. However after reading the ad multiple times. I figured out this listing said it had the original box and instructions that Mario World came in. The only picture was a close up of what looked like a boxed snes. I immediately was like holy shit, this person has a complete snes boxed and all these other rpg's w/manuals. I sent a message fully expecting it to be gone since it was posted almost a month ago. I was replied that it was still available. I went there not sure what to expect but figured why not? Worst case I leave. I see this beautiful boxed snes, practically mint, Styrofoam awesome, and it has the cardboard insert. Every game has a plastic sleeve and they had been placed in plastic baggies away from dust for like 20 years. It was an old couple who said they were saving for their son but now this new snes mini that had been released they no longer needed it. It gets better, they told me they had another box of stuff I could have . So not only did they have the boxed system and the games all w/manuals they also had a plastic baggie full of manuals they did not have games to which includes Zelda. As to the other box they tossed in, that had some nes manuals including Mega man 3, and and empty marble madness box. It as well had 2600 paddles, coleco vision controllers, and virtual boy glasses from Nintendo Power. Not to mention Nintendo Power stickers. Then I get home and find out ff3, 7th saga, and zelda had maps as well. While I was there I handed the lady $200, she said I owe you change. I told her not to worry about it The nice thing for me is I already own everything. I need to re-check my collection but I'm pretty sure my boxed snes is as minty as this already. The bottom of the snes is yellowed and the controllers have stickers but not a big deal. I have a bottom I can swap for the snes already and extra controllers if I decide to keep the stickers on. After I get this baby packed and all perfect it will sell for a good $300 just for the boxed snes system. The more I found I am thinking this lot is worth closer to $600. ...
Tanooki
Wow knocked that out of the park and it sat that long which goes to show a dumb way of listing things leaves them very ignored and missed. What's that one controller in the zip bag with the 4 colored buttons? If you intend to sell that black NES cover I may ask about that, my system I pieced together last year is in such nice shape. Today I spent under $20, found Mario Kart DD complete with an OEM memory card 59 in the box too, and then a pair of see through blue original USB gravis game pad pro controllers both with the almost always missing screw on joysticks that go into the d-pad. I was pretty happy about that.
icemanxp300
The controller in the bag is a quickshot. I left that one baggie to show what every game was in for the past 20 + years LOL. I actually have at least two of those nes covers. I have zero intentions on keeping them. Not sure why I have not listed the other for sale yet. Probably why I have about 5 extra Super Mario World manuals. I was able to swap this one out as it had writing. I also found plastic baggies for the game and r/f lol. I just hoard boxes of everything. I have decided to leave the yellow bottom because this unit has a low serial number. I have it all ready to take pics of and get it listed. Tax season being in the swing of things I may ask $300 plus shipping and see how it goes. I have added posters to it as well and wrapped it all good. My boxed Magic Sword actually had a beat up cart so that got swapped and I didn't have that romance of the three kingdoms 2, so that's being kept. I'm going to dig out my pair of virtual boy glasses and now I have two put them on my boys and take a picture LOL.
Tanooki
Sounds like a solid plan. I'm offloading stuff like crazy too, but at 50 cents a piece I may keep one of the gravis pads. If you do play with older DOS/Windows PC games or emulators for pre-3D consoles you know all well a lot of stuff gets really pissy about modernized controllers that have both a joystick and a d-pad where stuff won't work right or map to the wrong thing and can not be changed which sucks. This little controller could solve many problems.
SignGuy81
Went to the flea market today and went inside looking around. Saw a table with a 13 to 15 y/o girl running it and an Atari Flashback 1 with power adapter and 1 controller. Asked how much she said he would take $5. I thought okay that is great. I paid for it, she put it in a bag, and even gave me two free books for my daughter. Well, about 3 minutes later as I'm on the other side of the flea market she comes walking back up to me saying she is sorry that he was just organizing stuff and he didn't want to sell it so she gave me the five bucks back for it but told me to keep the books. Well my daughter got 2 free books at least. I came home empty handed today. EDIT: No big deal I just bought the exact same thing on ebay for only $3 more https://www.ebay.com/itm/142691311883 but can't figure out why in the world someone would set an item on a table along with everything else for sale, then have someone else watch your table for you then tell that person "oh I didn't want to sell that" after they have done sold it. I've been wanting to get one for the case but now I will have one in a few days. Edited February 18, 2018 by SignGuy81

If it was an adult that did this to me I wouldn't have gave it back but since it was a kid, well older kid I guess, I didn't fuss over it. But yeah if it was stadium events I don't think I would have gave it back and would have probably left as soon as paying for it and not even looked around the rest of the flea market.
Atari PAC-MAN Fan
Hey Guys! It's been a while! Anyway, I was in a flea market yesterday and found a beyblade! I don't know about you, but beyblade defines probably a third of my childhood. From the original series, to the Metal Fight series, all the way up to the burst series! I loved it so much that I was Gingka for Halloween some years back! Also, is it wrong if I think that Metal Fight Beyblade is the best of all? Tanooki
Still too cold and suck around here for flea markets as there hasn't been a screwball odd warm weekend so far this season which is a little weird. I went store hopping to the local chain and great escape today with my kid mainly to see what was there but also so she could take some little kid games in for trade. She did well bringing in 4 GB/GBC games and in return she got a 2in1 GBA (Dora) and GB Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 for an even trade which is a win really. Last place we went though score -- $20 for a (took an hour to strip and clean) Super Advantage! Also had Speed Racer CIB for the PSOne too so I snapped that up as well. I've been wanting that joystick back for a couple years now but never see it locally or I see it at the ebay price or higher ($35-40) which I won't do. Patience worked, it's nice and using the controller test screen in Space Megaforce confirmed it was 100% working too.
