gator #1 Posted May 14, 2011 All, I am looking to part with some of my systems and thought this would be a good place to check interest and maybe get some pointers on the sale of the items. I don't keep up with the prices on these items, but I no longer have the space for them and would like to sell them for a price that is reasonable for both me and the buyer. Any tips? From a money making perspective I suppose ebay would provide that, but I would much rather find someone interested and work it out with them directly rather than hassle with a full blown auction. I have the following: TurboDuo (good condition, working), TurboTap & about 40 games (I can provide a list of these if there is interest, there are not any super-rare/valuable items from what I have read) Colecovision and add-on unit (don't know the details on this and there is no power supply) Intellivsion and 4 games Sony PlayStation and 3 games Thanks to all in advance
ATARI7800fan #2 Posted May 14, 2011 That is a good TurboDuo collection you have there, currently have a TurboGrafx-16, hope to get a TurboDuo or Duo-R someday good luck, what do you think the collection is worth.

I have a Turbo CD with the 3.0 system card, I'm thinking the Duo is an upgrade.
gator #4 Posted May 14, 2011 I am not really sure what it is worth, that was one of the reasons I was hitting the boards to maybe get a better idea. The prices on these things seems to fluctuate all over the place. I am not going to be greedy about it, just don't want to get robbed either: ) The Duo is in good shape and still works fine. The games are a mix of CD and card and there is an extra controller or two as well, so I would think it would have some value to it. The value of your collection will have a lot to do with what a few things: What games do you have? Are then CIB, boxed, loose? What condition are the games in? This will help us out a lot in getting you the right value for your collection. Also, with a collection like that it might just be best to hit eBay or be willing to part it out. collections that size tend to do a little better when they are sold in pieces. Its nice to sell them all at once, but people just can't afford full price on everything in a lot and people will pay more for the one item they want then they will in the lot to get the item they want. If you are looking for interest you have found it. Now lets talk turkey!
gator #6 Posted May 14, 2011 Thanks for the reply and the additional information as I do really appreciate the feedback/help. I have included a list of the games below. All of these are in the jewel cases, with the front insert and in the case of the card based games, they have the protective sleeve, no outside boxes though. Lords of the Rising Sun Lords of Thunder Forgotten Worlds Prince of Persia Shape Shifter Gates of Thunder (disc also includes Bonk's Adventure & Bonk's Revenge) Buster Bros. Fighting Street Monster Lair Ys Book I & II Vasteel (This is a double-case, but only one disc, was there originally two?) Riot Zone The Addams Family Final Lap Twin Bloody Wolf Aero Blasters Neutopia II Deep Blue Psychosis Cadash The Legendary Axe Legendary Axe II Turrgian Sinistron Pac-Land Keith Courage in Alpha Zones Gunboat Dungeon Explorer Night Creatures Alien Crush Devil's Crush Cyber-Core Ninja Spirit Somer Assault Dead Moon Blazing Lazers (no insert in jewel case) The following do not have jewel cases, but have the card, protective sleeve and paper insert from the case. Falcon Ghost Manor Samurai-Ghost Chase H.Q. Soldier Blade The games generally look to be in really good condition overall, a few blemishes on a couple of cases, etc. I would rather avoid ebay if possible, even though I understand that may reduce what I can get out of them. I am really not looking to get "top dollar", just something fair to both parties, I can make some room around here and someone can get what they are looking for in their collection, so we both win. I might be willing to part it out as you said, but I was hoping if I can keep the price reasonable someone might be interested in the whole lot. I guess I can just see where everything heads and make a decision when it comes to it... HatefulGravey #7 Posted May 14, 2011 Now that there is a list of games up I know there are people here that can give you a grea idea of that they are worth. Once you know what they are worth you can decide what you want for them and go from there. I can tell you from what I have read a few of those games are pretty popular. The Ys games, and Ninja Spirit get talked about on this site from time to time for sure. If no one gets to it before me I'll go through that list tonight. I just don't know all these off the top of my head anymore.
Mark III #8 Posted May 15, 2011 There aren't any especially rare games in there but there are a lot of good and desirable games. It would be quite a nice bundle for someone starting a Duo collection. I wouldn't take anything less than $500 for the bundle if you wanted to sell it as a lot. Though you can expect a lot more if you wanted to take the time to part it out. People don't usually buy large collections unless the price is cheap so they can unload the stuff they already have or don't want.
Cebus Capucinis #9 Posted May 15, 2011 I'm interested in all of it. I'd love to start off in TG-16 and a nice chunk there to start off with! Please let me know how much you'd want for it and I'll likely match any offer on the table for it.
pseudonym #10 Posted May 15, 2011 If you wanted to separate them out there are a few that I'm interested in too.
HatefulGravey #11 Posted May 15, 2011 There are a few things there I would love to have, and I would buy the set with no problem for my collection. The problem with lot like that is always the fact that $500 at once is crazy money. I love collecting games and systems and I still can't make myself spend that much money at once. Maybe I'll get there one day.
gator #12 Posted May 17, 2011 Thanks to everyone so far for the suggestions and feedback that you have provided, it has been helpful. If those that were interested follow-through I will likely sell this all as a bundle, if not I will post here and let everyone know I am breaking it up. I have tried to respond to all PMs as quickly as I can. If you have any further questions, etc. please let me know. Thanks again
gator #13 Posted May 19, 2011 I am going to try my luck at selling all of the TurboDuo stuff off as a lot, if it doesn't work out I will likely start breaking it up. Would it be best to use this as the announcement of my intention to do so or am I better off starting a new thread "FS"? Thanks again to all Thanks to everyone so far for the suggestions and feedback that you have provided, it has been helpful. HatefulGravey #14 Posted May 19, 2011 Its common to do both really, so its up to you. IMO posting a FS thread can only increase the views you get as people have seen this thread and may not come back to see if you are selling or not.
