Mclaneinc
If you use raw keystrokes in Altirra's Keyboard prefs it passes the test
xxl
Yep, now works fine. Thanks.

Rybags
Probably not a huge problem so long as VBXE in fact gets reset properly. Stock machines return different values from "empty" locations, ie some 00, some FF, some row address. Proper VBXE programming means you always setup your bank registers from scratch anyway. phaeron
Oops... Altirra clears all VBXE registers to base state on a warm reset. Looking at the docs, it looks like only some of the bits should be reset. I should fix this up. But yes, it's good practice to reinit the registers from scratch anyway. flashjazzcat
Cheeky question, and don't hate me for asking: is there even a remote possibility of implementing slave support for the hard disk emulation in Altirra (i.e. having a path to an optional second HDD image file)? I spent quite a while coding up dual-HDD support for the MyIDE driver, and since my MyIDE hardware has finally given up, I'm no longer able to test this facility. phaeron
I think it's doable and I'll put it on the TODO list, but it'd be a bunch of work and I couldn't estimate when I'd have it implemented... sorry.

Marius
In Atari800Mac there is a very easy way of swapping disks (like D1 vs D2) I go to the Disk Menu (in Atari800Mac) and press 1, and then 2. I could not find such an option in Altirra; I would love to have it there too. Did i miss something? Thanks M.
flashjazzcat
Speaking of Atari800MacX - it has wonderful printer emulation. Has anyone tried Altirra's yet?

Marius
I'd love to see a Mac OS X version of this emulator. Any chances it will be released in a couple of months?
Rybags
I'd guess 2 chances: Fat & Fuck-all.
Heaven/TQA
well... I am using Parallels... but my OSX Dev system is WUDSN IDE+MADS+Atari800Macx and if heavier debugging is needed then Parallels+Altirra and after that real machine. phaeron
w1k: What cartridge type? Blizzard 16K? Mac OS X... yeah, sorry, I don't own a Mac or do Mac coding, so I'm afraid I won't be able to accommodate that.
Kr0tki
Not really Blizzard. Blizzard/Phoenix cartridges are disabled by writing to page $D5; this one is disabled by releasing a switch, so the only unique feature of the Blizzard mapping doesn't appear here. Such cartridges were popular in CSRS and Poland for use with various utility programs. There were several variations produced. One was using a two-position switch instead of a pushbutton like in this case; the other was using a capacitor instead of a button; the capacitor would dicable the cart after a few (5? 10?) seconds since power on. To enable it back, one would have to switch the computer off and back on, or reinsert the cart. See the cartridges with the "Auto switchoff" mapping in the ROM list for more examples. w1k, what is the "official" name of your ROM? I'd like to add it to the list. popmilo
I'd love to see a Mac OS X version of this emulator. Any chances it will be released in a couple of months? You can start this emulator in the win emulator Altirra works fine under Ubuntu using Wine.
phaeron
Is there a .CAR type assigned for auto-switchoff 16K cartridges yet?

Rybags
Has there been any update in the "standard" since Atari800Win+ stopped evolving 4 years ago or whatever ? Maybe Avery can just take over the standard... maybe start assigning new types from 50, just in case anything not documented pops up.
Kr0tki
The .CAR "standard" is maintained by the Atari800 team (not WinPLus), and is still updated, most recently on Sept. 5.
