Schitti
At that price, you can not go wrong. Be sure that the joysticks are working. a 5200 would be nice for 25$
accousticguitar
If it works $25 is a fair price for either the 2600 or the 5200.
raskar42
$25 is a nice price for any 2600 model and would be a bargain price for a 6 switch
SlowCoder
I see no one's told you yet that $25 for a 2600 is a good, fair (even a bargain for a 6-switcher) price for a 2600. And a 5200? $25 for a 5200 would be a good price too. ... seriously.

PsychoKittyNet
Agreed, awhile back I got a four switch woody and about 7 games for 30 and that was a good deal. Go for it, the 2600 is one of my favorite systems.
Young_Atari_Collector
She said it is a system with like 20-30 games (its from her childhood)

Young_Atari_Collector
Yeah i just have to wait a few days for her to pull it out hope games are CIB or have the instruction manual at least and the system does have the box
tz101
$25 is a sweet deal, especially if some games are involved. 5200 would be the cat's meow for that price.

It's a phrase, meaning really awesome. Most 2600 games don't really need manuals, as they are not very complex. They have them scanned here as well. But 25 for that lot and the system is boxed? Color me jealous.

Algus
Congrats. The 5200 would be a steal but the controllers for that are a little dicey. The 2600 is terrific. Be prepared if you haven't played games that old before though, 2600 games are a lot different than newer games and sometimes you pretty much need to read the manual to get a game set up properly
Young_Atari_Collector
I haven't played games as old as the atari but i have played the NES (I am a collector and Light Rifle from Nintendo Age)
Torr
That was a nice deal. It's amazing, and very nice, to see people even today buying and playing a VCS for the first time. With any luck, considering so many carts are included, you should end up with at least a handful of the classics/greats. Once you find out what carts you have, I've got a couple of commons I'd be willing to sell you REAL cheap if you don't have any of em. Gorfy
If those games have been sitting in a garage a long time, you might want to clean the chips inside with anhydrous alcohol and a cotton swab before inserting them into your console.
