Atarist 2600 #1 Posted May 17, 2011 Lookin for one sounds pretty cool, anyone have one for sale? I would like it for 50 bucks, and I need a pocket atari
AtariGeezer #2 Posted May 18, 2011 I've bought two on ebay for under $50 in the last year with memory cards and stuff, keep a look out there. Some want over $100 for just the main unit... You do know that these are ms-dos based and not an Atari OS?

You do know that these are ms-dos based and not an Atari OS? would you mind parting with them? Or should I keep my eyes open on ebay and goodwill? Atarist 2600 #9 Posted November 4, 2011 atari geezer does it program basic (like an 800xl) for portable basic programming?
AtariGeezer #10 Posted November 5, 2011 Think of the portfolio as a portable ms-dos pc, there's nothing atari related about it...
Atarist 2600 #11 Posted November 5, 2011 i just read you can progam basic, but what is ms dos compared to basic?
AtariGeezer #12 Posted November 5, 2011 The basic language on the portfolio is not the same in the 800xl, hence you can not use one on the other... If you don't know the difference between ms-dos and basic, use google
Atarist 2600 #13 Posted November 5, 2011 I forgot to say what it ment I mean does it use the same commands?

Atarist 2600 #15 Posted November 5, 2011 How do I rename the thread to something else?
AtariGeezer #16 Posted November 6, 2011 I forgot to say what it ment I mean does it use the same commands? The basic language is similar, but not interchangeable, two completely different animals (no pun intended ) The Portfolio is a Mini IBM PC, NOTHING Atari related about it... Like I said the early post in this thread, search google and read and learn
