HatefulGravey #1 Posted May 18, 2011 I know this can be done, and I played with a long long time ago, but my interest is recently renewed in this process. The process I had to do this with was not great in my opinion. It rarely worked right and left me wanting more. Have there been advancements in this process in recent years? Does anyone have links to information they use to get this done properly that I might be able to use to get up and running? Oh, I should mention my interest is in ripping the games I own, not downloading games that are already ready for this. Also, is there a way to swap discs when doing this? Havning Metal Gear Solid would be sweet, but that would mean swapping discs so...
keilbaca #2 Posted May 18, 2011 The process is the same, Popstation GUI is your friend. The trick is to get the custom Popstation installed onto your psp that allowed you to pick specific versions of popstation to associate with each game. Gundam Battle Assault 2 only worked with one version... and there is a guide here. Here's a quick tut. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/450045
HatefulGravey #3 Posted May 18, 2011 Sweet thanks. When they release me from work I'll now have something fun to do.
SlammedNiss #4 Posted May 19, 2011 You can also use Impaler's PSX eBoot Creator. It's super simple to use. http://www.impaleriso.com/psx_eboot_creator.htm
Rex Dart #5 Posted May 19, 2011 Yeah, I'd always use Popstation GUI. I think that was it, anyways. Thumbs Up to playing Tomba during a four-hour layover.
HatefulGravey #6 Posted May 19, 2011 How would disc swapping work for games with more then one disc?
Rex Dart #7 Posted May 23, 2011 Works fine as long as the game doesn't require you to keep it running while swapping discs. I'm not sure, but I doubt that sort works. As long as it lets you save, then boot up disc 2 (and your eboot of disc 2 has the same SLUS or whatever code), you're good
Nimtene #8 Posted May 23, 2011 You can also use Impaler's PSX eBoot Creator. Or does it take advantage of the recent 'fake_np' solution, and sign for OFW?

Don't you have to use CFW to run a d/l'd eBoot? I've never not had CFW on my PSP, so I'm unaware of what doesn't work on a OFW'd PSP.

As long as it lets you save, then boot up disc 2 (and your eboot of disc 2 has the same SLUS or whatever code), you're good multi-disc eboots from PSX2PSP and the POPs versions have been around for ages. Sony actually added the disc switching feature to the official POPs files back on the 5.00 firmware.
