Ikrananka #1 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) On the theme of Youki's search for names and address's for Nice Ideas, I thought I would post the contacts list from the back of the "Coleco 1932 to 1982" booklet that I picked up from eBay recently. I haven't seen such a comprehensive list anywhere else. It is a fascinating snapshot of Coleco in 1982. It also includes the Coleco (Canada) management names and office addresses. Apologies for the poor quality image - I am experimenting with book scanning techniques - this one is obviously not very successful!! The rest of the booklet will be scanned and then provided to retroillucid for inclusion on his upcoming Coleco website. retroillucid #2 Posted May 22, 2011 You rocks Andrew! So great piece of paper here! The Museum website is going great! I think we should be able to put it online soon, I'm thinking of this summer indeed
newcoleco #3 Posted May 22, 2011 I remember seeing an article about Coleco Canada in a newspaper scan with an interview of Brian Clarke mentionned in the scan posted here. In the article, he said something like he doesn't understand why only a very few US companies develop as well in Canada like they do. I was searching back for the article and I wasn't able to find it. Maybe when I will not look for it, I will find it back.
phattyboombatty #4 Posted May 23, 2011 This is really neat. Growing up--being a kid--it was always a marvel to see these incredible works of art (8-bit video games) with all their splendid packaging and concept/renditions in the form of box art. I always wondered: who is on the other end? Who are the programmers/artists/producers that create these games? Who distributes them? How does the company run? It's neat to see such a list as this and to imagine how these people came together to create games, ROMs, packages, and video game systems! Still seems so way ahead of its time. Skylark68 #6 Posted June 1, 2011 It's interesting to note how many manufacturing facilities Coleco had. I wonder how long they stuck with US manufacturing? My old Telstar was made in USA but I can't remember if the Colecovision was. I'm pretty sure that some of the Cabbage Patch dolls were made in USA.
