What do you collect besides video games?

Okay, what else do you guys collect out there? I tried to think of all the stuff I could, but people collect a *lot* of different things, so it's hard to hit them all. If you don't see one listed that you *really* want included, make note of it and I can add it in before you vote.

Hmmm. Can't really think of anything. I used to collect older PC computers but they took up way too much room and they never got used. I used to collect stamps as a kid but found it way too boring. Never was really into traditional things like comics, cards of any type, although I did have some Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek cards I think.

 

Other than that, its video games and that's about it.

Make sure you vote in the final section too, even if it's just to check "Nothing else I can think of." That got me at first.

 

The two biggest collections outside of video games are movies and music.

 

The movie collection is mostly on DVD. If it's a visual movie that would look a whole lot better in hi-def, I'll get the Blu-ray (or HD DVD, as long as the player works), but still keep the DVD, since DVDs make for nice, portable copies. I've also kept a handful of laserdiscs, where the LD release of a movie has features the newer formats don't, or just has really cool packaging.

 

The music collection is on CDs and vinyl. For '60s through '80s stuff, I'll grab the original vinyl release if the price is right (most of my collection has come from thrift stores), as well as the CD. I also have a few cassettes that I picked up on the cheap, which will be replaced when I find the CD and/or record for the right price.

 

I have a few random other collections that I'll add to now and then, like comics (mostly "Sonic the Hedgehog") and books of newspaper strips (mostly old favorites like "Garfield," "Bloom County" and "Calvin and Hobbes"). Really though I need to pare down.

Wow, have not seen one of those old 80s RCA CED video disc players in years, i bought one in i think 1983, use to have a ton of movies for it, all gone now though, the thing would break down or just not work right all the time, it was pretty bad technology.

Well, besides all things video game related, I collect:

 

Any kind of sci-fi collectables/toys including Star Wars, Star Trek, and all kinds of robots, rockets, and ray guns.

 

I have a pretty sizable DVD/Blu-ray collection as well as music CDs, SACDs, and DVD-Audio discs.

 

I never thought of it as a collection per se, but I have quite a number of guitars (3) and basses (6)

 

My wife is a collector of comic books, vinyl records and all things duck related.

 

If I had the room, I'd definately get into Arcade and Pinball collecting, but for now I'll have to settle for just one pin.

 

We should have bought a bigger house.
