cparsley
The next game is actually a three pack of games, all from the boys at Imagic Game #1 - Ice Trek The Youth begged the Elder, "Tell me again of the ancient ones who knew no far, of Vail the Avenger and Kalkron the Terrible. Tell about the theft of the lights that glister and blaze in the night, and of the new Ice Age it threatened. Tell me of the Avenger's many trials - of countless caribou and the majestic Wildlife Goddess, fragile ice bridges and the spectacular Ice Palace!" "Another day, young one. Now you must rest." With eyes closed tight against time, the Youth slept. Upon rising, he was clothed in ancient garb. A single mission consumed all thought: free the lights of night from Kalkron the Terrible! So began a legendary trek... Skill Level : Player's Choice. Game #2 - Nova Blast "Emergency! Nova 1 to Ground Control! I'm the last of the fleet! They've all gone down!" "We read you, Nova 1. Are the Capsuled Cities still standing?" "Affirmative. But air enemies and Water Walkers are moving in." "Status of Nova 1. Any damage?" "I can take about ten more hits, Ground Control." "Proceed on course, Nova 1. Save our Capsuled Cities at any cost! You're our last hope. Over." "I read you loud and clear, Ground Control. Over and out." Skill Level : Player's Choice. Game #3 - Demon Attack Earth lies in grave peril! Winged terror screams across mute space. Legions of creatures bombard Earth's final outpost: Moon Station Tranquility. Intercept and destroy these garrisons which breed destruction - or Earth is doomed! Survive the demon attack - then go on the offensive! Your Laser Cannon lifts off the lunar surface. You seek to track down Pandemonium, flagship of the Demon Armada. Its awesome bulk seems to fill space with menace. It spews vast armies of eternal night from its fiery Core. Attack! End the tyranny of the Demon Armada. You must prevail against monumental odds. Skill Level : Player's Choice. Scoring will occur for each individual Imagic title, as well as a combined scoring for best play thru all three Imagic titles. In addition, Imagic had it's answer to the Activision club, "Numb Thumbs". Each game was given an "Experts Club" goal for each of the games created. If a member sent in a photo showing an on-screen score higher than the standard for that game, the player received an iron-on decal. If a member sent in three photos from different games, he or she would receive an "Imagic Expert" t-shirt. And for six photos, the member received an Imagic Experts Club jacket. So for any scores meeting/exceeding the Experts Club Scores, the player will earn bonus points for the HSC. For 1 game - 2pts For 2 games - 5pts For 3 games - 10pts Those are total points, not cumulative for the bonus. The target scores are: Ice Trek - 25,000pts Nova Blast - 45,000pts Demon Attack - 20,000pts Scoring for the cumulative scoreboard will be 2x(Ice Trek+Demon Attack)+Nova Blast=Final Score If you missed games 1-3, this is the perfect time to get in and make your start. If you are low on the board, use this session to aim for the top, and if your there, you can make a long distance on your competition. Deadline for entries is : June 5th, 2011 @ 1:00 am Eastern time. GOOD LUCK!! Individual final results are on post #96. Chuck D. Head
Awesome! At least I have two out of the three this time; just missing Ice Trek. +cmart604
I should get bonus points for being the first one in with all 3 scores...even if they're not that great. 12,650 for Ice Trek 48,350 for Nova Blast 8,567 for Demon Attack With the 2x for Demon Attack and Ice Trek I believe my total score is 90,784. I made the experts level target score for Nova Blast, but I honestly can't see making the other 2.

JacobZu7zu7
First three scores for my entry here, ice trek 1,310 nova blast 25,500 demon attack 1,800 Not easy on emulator, I do have Demon Attack... which plays much easier on hardware. Ice Trek I don't get it, I build the bridge of ice but when it looks done I just fall back in the water trying to cross?? How do you complete the bridge?
cparsley
Jacob, make sure ur using the latest Nostalgia emulator, if not the emulation is not perfect so it doesnt detect ending the level before you detecting being off the bridge.
+thegoldenband
Haven't taken a crack at Nova Blast yet, but here's what I've been able to do so far in the other two. Ice Trek - 16,640 Demon Attack - 20,363 The Demon Attack score was relatively easy to reach, though either my concentration lapsed or the game got a lot tougher as soon as I cracked 20k, as I lost three ships in short order. I guess I can see how Ice Trek is doable, but it seems like it'd demand a totally different level of patience, accuracy, and good luck -- Demon Attack is much more forgiving. Having said that I prefer Ice Trek. Among other things I'm noticing some significant control issues in Demon Attack -- little "hitches" in the ship's lateral movement that remind me of similar issues I saw in Championship Tennis, and which can make dodging really frustrating. I suspect it's a programming issue, since my controllers have never given me any trouble (knock on wood), and there are other known bugs in the game. +thegoldenband
Nova Blast - 48,350. I think I hate this game, though. It's poorly designed and full of cheap shots.
zylon
Let's see, I don't have Ice Trek, never figured out how to play or even start Nova Blast properly, and suck at Demon Attack. Kept it for some reason...
+thegoldenband
Ice Trek - 22,940. Was having a great game until I reached the sixth or seventh cycle (don't remember which), and suddenly the ice floes started coming so fast and furious that it was basically impossible to build a bridge. Since the game took close to an hour, I'm not sure how many more attempts on the 25k mark I'm willing to make...

Head
I'm not going to bother with the embarrassing photos yet, but for starters: Demon Attack - 4,626 Nova Blast - 24,500 Still having trouble with Novablast. Gonna look at some YouTube videos, cause it seems like I am missing something......

cparsley
Here is my opening salvo (Demon Attack's score is low due to the emu bugging out and crashing on the 5th trip back to the moon) Scores: Ice Trek: 18,950 (damn ice bridge on trip 6, almost impossible to keep it going) (2nd) Demon Attack: 13,224 (game crashed, couldn't continue (had 3 lives) (2nd) Nova Blast: 35,000 (3rd) Overall: 99,348 (2nd)

On Nova Blast, you can use your energy beam to replace the shield on your cities below (even if the shield is temporary, it has saved my arse from time to time)

The manual referred to bombs, but I just thought it was the same thing and, oddly enough it did not work very well. I looked up a pic of the overlay and see that the bombs are in BFE over on the right button; time for more double-jointed hand contortions!!
