B&C ComputerVisions made HARDWARE?

Recommended Posts

You know, as many years as they sold those B&C 810 conversions, I'm surprised theres not more of them floating around.. You hardly ever see them.. Of course, you hvae to admit, it was pretty damn ugly...

They made the case, Fiberwire.. Its all atari 810 guts.. Look at some B&C ads in atari mags over the last 30 years or so. They offered those for quite a while. (They may even still sell them that way, I havent checked)..

they had pallets of 810 internals from atari, and found a case... was a cheap way to get a second floppy drive back in the day...

sloopy.

Funny. I've heard about those, but that's the first time I've seen a pic of one.

they also had one on a clear acrylic base, i have only seen a horrible pic of it...

reason i know the above case so well, a kid at a atari user group brought one to a meeting, and said it was a 810 prototype... that was about '86... no one in the group had a B&C 810, but they opened it up and could tell it wasnt a prototype...

sloopy.

I must say that's a pretty clever way to sell cheap drives, even if it is a hideous case.

HA! I saw that too.

I like how the spacing between the power switch and the LEDs and the drive door make this instantly-recognizable as an 810.

Why are there 3 LEDs? Power, Busy, and ????????

That LED on the drive mechanism bezel is always there - has always been there. Remember these 5.25 mechs are used on other vintage computers as well.
