Scootiecat #1 Posted May 28, 2011 I got a USB converter, so I could use my PS1 controllers with MAMEUI64. The "X" button will get me past the screen of confirming that I own the ROM, but then the controller doesn't work. Can someone please help me get it to work? I'm sure there's something in the settings I have to do, but I don't know what. Also, I am not too good with this stuff, so I need directions written out pretty clearly. Thanks! NightSprinter #2 Posted May 28, 2011 Well, as long as you have the joystick enabled in the emulator's default settings there is something easy to do. Just hit the tab key on your keyboard and go down to "input (this game)". From there you can set up the controller for that game. I usually set it up for start as the obvious button, and select to insert coin. Just remember to either hit the escape key until you exit the menu or tab to hide it. I've got it mostly figured out on a couple of games now. But how do you change the buttons? Couldn't figure that out. And how do you save your game so others can view it? NightSprinter #4 Posted May 29, 2011 To change buttons, just go to that particular one in "Input (This Game)" and hit either the first button on the gamepad or enter on the keyboard, and then press whichever button you want for that game input. If by "save your game so that others can view it" you mean a screenshot, F12 will save a screen capture of the game. Otherwise, for a save-state hit Shift+F7 and select which slot to save to (and then just hit F7 by itself and select the slot you saved to). I like helping people. ^_^
Scootiecat #5 Posted May 30, 2011 How do you save it to a .inf file? Thanks for your help!
NightSprinter #6 Posted May 30, 2011 If I remember right, MAME will save it automatically upon exiting the game. I just double-checked with MAME-XT, and it still has my settings for Rival Schools.
