I really wanted Rygar on the list, but they made a PS2 version and ruined that for me. Plus I don't feel Rygar is underrated at all: everyone loves Rygar.

This is the wrong system, but Psychic World is great and underrated and Non-franchise.

we're leaving platformer territory, although i concede rygar. There are a lot of sidescrolling action games that don't really feature enough platforms or jumping for me to call them platformers; Zelda 2, for example.

Technically, Zelda 2 and Rygar are mixed games, part platformer and part something else, but so is SMB3 for that matter.

No Astyanax? Battle of Olympus? 8 Eyes? Conquest of the Crystal Palace?! I am surprised at all of these omissions as these are all favorites of mine. Heck, would Milon's Secret Castle qualify?

There's some Kabuki Quantum Fighter NES scans to make up for it not being on the list. I wasn't counting licensed games either, and I KNOW Fist of the North Star is licensed but I made an exception because I love those two games

 

Maybe a second set of 10 games is in order?

Low G Man would probably be near the top of my list. I love that game, but the only people who make videos about it are all about "the worst game ever" or other BS like that.

Fist of the North Star does not belong. Underrated? To call the game "crap" is going easy on it.
