Street Fighter II: Championship Edition

Recommended Posts

I have been playing a lot of SFII: Championship Edition on MAME (don't be hating on me). I always play Chun-li and what I find odd is my particular copy of the game always has me fighting Dhalsim first and then Ryu second. And Ryu is really really difficult to defeat. I mean, I play this exact same game on my iPhone in the Capcom Arcade Collection and I can get past Ryu most of the time with Chun-li.

Could either the copy of the game I am playing in MAME be some weird separate-them-from-their-quarters bootleg that operators always loaded in the machines? Or is Ryu supposed to be this hard as my second opponent?

Yes.

In the first Street Fighter 2 he was the only character that had moves that other characters could not counter. He's sort of been Capcoms "Hero" of the series. As far as I know, he's the only one to have been in every Street Fighter game.
