Alex #1 Posted December 27, 2002 Has anyone made a list of all the arcade ports for the 2600?
Snider-man #2 Posted December 27, 2002 Hmmm...should be an easy enough project with a DP Guide and a little bit of double checking. If no one comes through, I'll work on one this weekend.
SS #3 Posted December 27, 2002 Would something like "Video Olympics" count for this sort of list?
Alex #4 Posted December 27, 2002 Not in the list I'm looking for. I mean real (and most likely licensed) arcade ports like Defender, Track and Field, etc.

Snider-man #13 Posted December 27, 2002 Here, here here. I found the most complete list of Atari 2600 carts I could find (don't ask where) and whittled down to only the arcade ports. Some I'm not sure about and some were obviously BASED on an arcade game, though it didn't have the arcade name itself. It's rough, but it should be very near complete except for some detail work. MattG/Snyper2099 #15 Posted December 27, 2002 I surprised no one mentioned Combat. This game is the same as the arcade game 'Tank' by Atari. They just changed the name when they ported to the 2600. I'm sure there are other examples as well. Like the video olympics example. Gun Fight was changed to Outlaw wasn't it? MattG.

Mr. Do's Castle Pole Position Popeye Pooyan Q*bert Spy Hunter Stampede Super Cobra Time Pilot I'm sure I'm repeating with some. Basically, someone should cross-referebce KLOV with AA's rarity list to determine arcade ports. Some may have been ported from obscure games few have heard of (like Pooyan). Nukey Shay #17 Posted December 27, 2002 Yeah, but he said that he was after official lisensed games. Surround and Dodge'Em wouldn't count either (since they were called Dominos and Head-On). BTW IIRC...arcade PitfallII was based on the home game, not the other way around.

Witchfynde #23 Posted December 28, 2002 And I think Steeplechase was an arcade game too Yeah, I was surprised when I found that out on the klov a few months ago: I thought it was an original game by Sears, but it was actually an arcade game...by Atari! I wonder why Atari never released it themselves? Snider-Man already had it on his list though. I also was surprised that Sky Diver was also an arcade game too; I thought it was an Atari original as well ('course Atari made the arcade game). MegaManFan #24 Posted December 28, 2002 Oh man, that's the greatest cartoon! "Uh oh, you found da princess! What in de hail she doing?" Close. "Uh oh, you found da princess. WRONG! She's in anudda house, go away." "What in de hail? Hey, crapp on dis!" Seriously though, I'm trying to picture Tempest on a 2600 and as much as I'd like to believe a properly programmed one can do damn near anything, that's just too much. I can't picture an even SLIGHTLY believable Tempest in my own head. How in de hail?
