Edit: looks like I'm a bit late. Anyway, finally it makes sense why Atari tapes are sometimes confused with 8 track cartridges.

the reason i do not believe is because i have loads of 8 tracks and have taken them apart often to repair and they need all that space in there

 

even the smallest cartridge board would not fit in the pictured item

you can see part of the cartridge-bank-thing in the slow ride edit. Look right above the reset switch and to the right a little. See? And anyways, the angles on the 8-track combo cart are all wrong anyways. do the math!
