littleman jack #26 Posted June 14, 2011 Dragonfire, Cosmic Ark, and Trick Shot are three of my favorite games period. So these would be my top Imagic games.
LynxVGL #27 Posted June 14, 2011 Where's the "Riddle of the Sphinx" love? Com'on! Two joystick adventure game! Com'on! I admit I love Demon Attack too though.
Chris++ #28 Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) You bet -- Riddle of the Sphinx is my favorite (Game 3, specifically), because I like games in which you have to explore and...y'know...find things. I'll leave the psychology therein up to the armchair pundits. The game can get kind of tedious unless you dig up the scepter before anything else, so a good tactic is to keep resetting until you dig up the scepter, using the spade that you start out with. Now you'll be able to travel at a very high speed, regardless of your thirst level. It's actually a more complex game than it might seem. I also think Fathom is underrated. I haven't played it for real in decades, but I agree, I am inpressed how much searching and use of inventory is on games like that for the 2600. I also really liked Trick Shot for it's unique gameplay.
BigErn #32 Posted July 24, 2011 I haven't played them all, but Cosmic Ark is numero uno for me.
Atomik #33 Posted July 24, 2011 I didn't play all games made by Imagic, but I really like the style of Atlantis (just look at my avatar) even though it hasn't the greatest gameplay. Gameplaywise I have to go for Demon Attack.
AtariTexas #34 Posted July 24, 2011 Demon Attack and Moonsweeper
darryl1970 #35 Posted July 24, 2011 I only really played Demon Attack on a regular basis, as I borrowed it from a neighbor. I do recall playing Atlantis too. The graphics in Atlantis were kind of cool, but the gameplay was boring to me. I had a lot of fun with Demon Attack, so I would have to vote there. A note about Demon Attack: I have since played Demon Attack on the ti-994a, Commodore 64, Intellivision, and maybe some others. I have to say that I think the 2600 version is the best. i really plays on the strengths AND weaknesses of the 2600. I do not recall any other version with enemies quite as colorful AND with splitting aliens. It just seemed to have a lot of variety to the game play, and I didn't notice it on the other systems. SeaGtGruff #37 Posted July 25, 2011 First my comments, then my decision... Atlantis-- I don't think I owned this back in the day, although I have it now. It isn't one of my favorites-- not that there's anything wrong with it, I'm just not big on (most) shooting games. Cosmic Ark-- I definitely owned this back in the day. I never cared for it much, although I thought the overall concept was interesting. Demon Attack-- When I got this game, I played it obsessively until I finally mastered it (even though I'm not big on shooting games in general). Dragonfire-- I never had this game back in the day, but have acquired it since. It's not one of my favorites, probably mainly because I haven't gotten very good at it yet! Fathom-- I desperately wanted this game after I first saw it advertised in the magazines, but could never find it in any of the local stores. Now I have it, but I haven't played it enough to be good. Riddle of the Sphinx-- I definitely had to buy this game, since I usually prefer adventure games. It's more of an arcade game than an adventure per se, but fun to play. Star Voyager-- Between Star Raiders, Starmaster, and Star Voyager, I think I preferred Star Voyager because it was a bit simpler, therefore easier to pick up. So I would have to say... Riddle of the Sphinx Demon Attack Star Voyager Michael

Atomik #41 Posted July 25, 2011 As you can see on the pic´s below, i love all the imagic games (I do not love atlantis only like it). My favorites right now are: subterrenia, wing war and laser gates. Now that's nice! How hard is it to get all Imagic games? I think that would be my first real goal in Atari collecting, don't need all cover variations though
pis #42 Posted July 25, 2011 Well.. It´s all up to how much you are willing to pay. I think most games are up on ebay right now, but some ridiculusly overprized. I dont own all imagic-games, i own all PAL-carts, witch took me about 4 years to complete (not paying more then 5euros (inkl.P+P) for any game. Im missing: Shooting gallry (NTSC only) is easy to find on ebay.com. atlantis II (NTSC only) witch is very, very, very rare (never sold in stores). And sky patrol witch are a prototype. The last 2 should be very hard to find even with a huge wallet. Happy hunting.

Atari_Bill #47 Posted August 2, 2011 I think Quick Step is my current favorite of the Imagic brand.
Knubberrub #48 Posted August 2, 2011 I still haven't played all of them but I always liked Imagic as a company. I used to have Star Voyager and Atlantis first time round which I really liked. I discovered Laser Gates more recently which I also thought was a great game.
Rik #49 Posted August 3, 2011 Imagic made such original, unique, looking games.Everything about Imagic was great including the boxes, cartridge shape, I love the Silver Foil/Mylar like material on boxes and game cart labels. The game that gets most play is Cosmic Ark, Demon Attack being the 2nd most played for me. Would be great to have Atlantis II but I think I wouldn't be willing to pay that much for a game. If I get all the regular sold Imagic games I'm satisfied. Did you buy them mostly from ebay? I, as a german, can't think of another place than Ebay or flea markets, but I didn't look at flea markets by now. Seems like the americans here have an easier time finding Atari stuff?
