flammingcowz #1 Posted June 11, 2011 How would you shine up chrome switches on an atari? How do you even make sure they are real chrome? All heavy sixers have them right?
+bennybingo #2 Posted June 11, 2011 How would you shine up chrome switches on an atari? How do you even make sure they are real chrome? All heavy sixers have them right? I found a bit of old info from a couple of years back here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/124967-fragile-chrome-switches/ Hope it helps!
SlowCoder #3 Posted June 12, 2011 Unfortunately, I don't believe the chrome switches came with all of the heavies. I'm lucky enough to have one though. When I get a new console I (gently) scrub the switches with a brillo. You have to be careful because the chrome/aluminum may become loose on its post and start turning. After that hit them with some aluminum polish to protect them. You can be amazed at the cosmetic difference shiny switches makes.
the.golden.ax #4 Posted June 12, 2011 I let my wife polish the chrome around my place. You should get a woman to do the same for you. AX

Cebus Capucinis #7 Posted June 12, 2011 If I remember right, at one point in time ax had a dishwasher that would literally take chrome off. We were going to test it to clean carts at some point but were concerned it would just melt them.

+Random Terrain #9 Posted June 13, 2011 You have to be careful tho...I met a woman once who claimed to be able to remove the chrome off a trailer hitch... I don't think you'd want that in reality. Skin comes off a lot faster than chrome. She'd rip the skin off in one piece like a meat sock. I've seen photos of degloved fingers, but I don't think I want to see a degloved tickle tube.
