rhindlethereddragon #1 Posted June 15, 2011 I was going through my game collection and thought to myself, "I haven't played ASTROWAR in a while", so I plugged the cartridge in, and started playing. A couple of minutes into the game working just fine, suddenly I get a bunch of garbage on the screen and a high pitch noise. No big deal, I thought, and turned the it off and back on again. At first the screen looked normal, then a second later, the same garbage on the screen again. I tried cleaning the contacts with alcohol and a cotton swab. Same problem. Tried repositioning the cart, inserting, re-inserting several times, same problem. A couple of times the screen came on normal for the first second, then crashed again. I'm wondering if this particular game was produced on an EPROM and less durable than hard wired cartridges? Any idea what could have happened?

Thomas Jentzsch #4 Posted June 15, 2011 It could be your console or power supply failing too. Did you try other carts right after Astrowar died?

Yep, the old standards like Asteroids, etc. All worked fine. I'm kinda upset by this, I liked astrowar, and it wasn't really cheap IIRC........... Is there any hope?
