As much as I hate to admit it, half or more of the US Games I collected will probably spent little time ever being played. Entombed may be the lone exception - their hit or miss development team actually struck gold on that one!

Star Raiders, can't even figure out how to play the damn game. And now I have 2 star raiders carts. Just one was too many.

*kills Stanjr*

*re-reads his post*

damn...

Oh well, anyway...Sssnake comes to mind as one I don't have to play again...I can live without Adventure (I know, BLASPHEMY!!!) quite honestly...no Swordquests in my forseeable future...and I really despise Mr. Do, Burgertime, and Gorf as well (mainly in general, those are my three most hated games of all time!!!)...

*tries to give CPR to Stanjr*

*realizes head isn't quite attached to body anymore*

*goes to find duct tape and stapler*

I really have to read these posts closer...

***Joey puts flame-retardent suit on***

REACTOR

Since you got your suit on... :)

How could you say you won't play it again when you obviously never REALLY have?? :D (By that I mean with full knowledge of HOW to play and read the directions and knew what the goals were etc... rather than popping in the cart and blindly giving it a go for 2 minutes) ;) :P

The games I never play are the ones I have had since the early 80's--my original games.

I have just played them too much over the years. I never had a huge collection of games back then, so they got played to death.

That list includes:

Chopper Command

Starmaster

Stampede

Vanguard

Freeway

Turmoil

Dark Cavern

One game I had that I miss is Mountain King. The cart died before it's time--but I still did get a lot of games out of it.

WHAT?!? Have you gone completely loco, my friend? Eggomania, Entombed, Gopher, Raft Rider, and Towering Inferno are among my favorite 2600 games!

(Of course, I'd buy a Venetian Blinds cart too! :P )

Okay... okay... you're right... :P It's the first 2600 game I have ever owned that I couldn't plug in and figure out in 2 minutes flat... therefore, it got tossed aside. In all honesty, I probably spent half an hour trying to figure it out and gave up...

And I guess I can add the Swordquest games to my list, too!

Reactor was always one of my more favorite 2600 games, but probably only because I loved the arcade game and found the 2600 version a nice simplification. I got to play it a few times with a trakball (in joystick mode of course) though I can't remember if that made it better or worse.

There are lots of 2600 games I probably would never play again, but they'd probably be the unmemorable ones whose names I've already forgotten. ;) I have no real desire to play Air/Sea Battle, E.T., the original Atari Pac-Man, or the original Atari Asteroids again though, off the top of my head.

Raft Rider is okay, except that my copy of it is somewhat flaky, so I'd rather not mess with it more often than not. I have to admit I'd probably like Towering Inferno except I have no idea how to play it and never bothered to look up the manual here on the site; I just gave up on it. All things said the US Games are as a whole not as spiffy as the Parker Bros. or Activision games, which seem to be higher quality overall.

I am never, ever going to play Word Zapper again. I had that in my original collection...I have no idea why anyone thought it was a good idea to purchase it.

I'm also never going to play Sneak 'n' Peek again, if only because I was scared to death of the game when I was a small child. :)

Demons to Diamonds

Star Raiders (I can ace the 5200 version...the 2600 version blows)

I will probably never play ET ever again. Falling constantly into a pit lost it's novelty years ago..about 16 years ago to be exact. :)

Well noone wants to touch Word Zapper again .. but ...

if you have kids or nephews .. you can have a blast playing Basketball, Boxing, Air-Sea Battle, etc .. so you may play some of those games again that seem tired today ..

Share the games .... and let another generation discover the simplicity of the Atari.
