DickNixonArisen #1 Posted June 18, 2011 pardun teh ugli This thing has what looks like a male PS/2, a female PS/2 (opposite each other, horizontal in the photo) or MAYBE a genesis A/V, what looks like a 1/8 Audio jack (maybe) and more interestingly a Nintendo A/V plug, as found on NES/SNES/64. (GCN too?) It fits perfectly into the system. I actually just thought of the genesis angle just now, gimme a minnit. Yep, it works (at least as a passthrough) for the GEN, and definitely plugs into Nintendo systems. Could it be used to record music off of consoles? dendawg #2 Posted June 18, 2011 Maybe one or both of the PS/2 is S-video?
Austin #3 Posted June 18, 2011 Hm, interesting...
SEgamer #4 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) The audio jack maybe to hookup to a sound system or headphones like you mentioned. I've also seen audio jack to AV cables before. Edited June 19, 2011 by SEgamer
DickNixonArisen #5 Posted June 19, 2011 hm. The way it fits into a genny (second or third model only), is awkward. It won't allow the power plug to be in at the same time. Is the genesis AV identical to S-Video (do model 2 and 3 gens use S-Video)? If that's the case, I THINK right now that this is made to be used only with a NES/SNES/64/GCN, to turn the proprietary AV into 1/8th stereo out and S-Video. Kind of cool, I guess... maybe good for recording sound off of a game? Odd little thing.
Atariman #6 Posted June 21, 2011 Nope, you're all wrong. It's for the Aura Interactor - it was basically what "fed" the crappy filter/amplifier that powered the junky subwoofer that you strapped to your chest. Can it be used for the things mentioned above? Of course, but it originally came with the Interactor. Follow the link below and you'll see it in the picture part way down the page: http://www.avsim.com/pages/0604/aura/aura_interactor.htm
DickNixonArisen #7 Posted June 21, 2011 ! it does say Aura on it, which I failed to mention. So it's like a rumble pack for your chest, right?

Atariman #9 Posted June 21, 2011 ! it does say Aura on it, which I failed to mention. So it's like a rumble pack for your chest, right? Yep, that's pretty much it. It's a sound activated rumble pack for your chest.
+Random Terrain #10 Posted June 21, 2011 I bless you in the name of the father, son and the NES spirit? Yeah, I didn't see much of anything, but after adjusting the brightness with IrfanView, it's still hard to see, but it kind of looks like an Amish guy visiting long-lost family in the big city, trying his best to scare away Old Order Mennonite vampires.
DickNixonArisen #11 Posted June 21, 2011 WTF. Why does everyone in the world think I am amish. First of all like half the norwich bums alongside the river. then that 350 pound woman who couldn't think of the world. then the guys in my fencing class. then my therapist. now RT. YOU ARE THE ONES WHO ARE THE AMISH!
