Saucer scores in Space Invaders ?

I noticed that when I hit a saucer, if I fire 4 shots, and hit the next saucer on the fifth, I score 200 points.

 

I have tried different shot counts to try to get 300 points. Is 200 points the most you can score on a saucer??

Yes; the VCS version provides just the 200-point saucer.
