tz101 #1 Posted June 23, 2011 I took it apart and there are a number of resistors, along with a capacitor or two. Possibly one of those has gone bad?

tz101 #3 Posted June 23, 2011 Is it an off the shelf part that can be bought through an electronics dealer?
Yurkie #4 Posted June 23, 2011 Is it an off the shelf part that can be bought through an electronics dealer? I am not aware of a replacement. It you can find one, it would be a great piece of info to share with the community. I have never tried it, but the Roller Controller has 2 optical sensors and the Steering Wheel has one... I am curious if a roller controller sensor could be used in the steering wheel or vise versa. There never seemed to be much interest in the accessories for me to spend much time messing around with them.
tz101 #5 Posted June 23, 2011 It's got me wondering: The older roller-ball style computer mice have two optical encoders on board. I wonder if one of those encoders could be scavenged from an old mouse and put to good use. Hmmmmm....

Keep us abreast of your findings and in the worst case scenario where you can't get it repaired... at least the EM #2 is fairly cheap to buy via eBay or one of the online website resellers: http://www.atari2600.com/ http://www.collectorscardsandgames.com/ there are more, but these are two of the best to check.
