Joy of joys! Amazon.com, modding, and the posibilities!

Recommended Posts

I just bought a Retrobit NES close (the red/white version, the colors of the Famicom). I know a few people on these forums will scoff, but this was cheap, I was curious, and I think I need to replace the 72-Pin connector in my NES. I'm probably going to retire it, in fact, to a safe, dust-free place as a collector's item someday.

Anyway, my new toy came with these cheap clone controllers and I was thinking about mods I could do for them. I absolutely abhor the button layout (it feels all wrong!) and I have a couple dead SNES controllers laying around.

But what's cool about these 3rd party controllers is the fact that they have turbo A + B buttons in addition to the normal buttons. In addition to a slo-mo button, but that just puts the start button in turbo mode. They're pretty nifty, I like them. However, as I've said, the button layout is all wrong.

I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction about modding these Retrobit controllers and putting their guts inside an SNES controller. More specifically, I want my SNES controller to have an NES output and turbo capabilities. I searched google, but most of the resources assume one has background knowledge in these things and I'm an absolute noob. Is this even possible?

Edit:

I just realized that these retrobit consoles look suspiciously like the Yobo clones. Does anybody know if these are manufactured by the same company?
