SRGilbert #26 Posted July 1, 2011 I've had the original 2-player model since it came out and have always been pretty happy with it. Only complaint is that a lot of my favorites are 4-way games, and the sticks are a little sensitive. Obviously I could swap them out if I wanted, but I haven't really bothered. Wait did you read what RJ posted about there being a "note in the manual how to change the sticks to 4-way mode." ?? If that is possible, and is not too much trouble, I may just do that on certain games. I wonder if there is a list of 4 way controlled games? I got the solo stick and 4-way mode is just a pain in the ass to do (it doesnt really work the way they say it does). I cant get to X-Arcades support site ATM to give you a link but they have a video of one of their guys doing it and yes its easy to do but just one catch. --> You have to bend the pins (on all four sides) because they usually (on my model) wont touch the connectors so you need to adjust them perfectly. Adjust-readjust to get them just right. Otherwise Pac-Man wont move or he will move just by you breathing on the stick. I could not feel a difference either when I had it semi working. Left mine on 8-way and said to hell with it. Im also too damn lazy to hook up all those damn adapters for the 360 and the PS3. Easier for me to use it on my PC. So in a way I kind of wish I never bought it cause Im too lazy to really use it. Ditto, the "4-way" mode they advertise doesn't really work that well. You absolutely need a physical restrictor of some sort. I made one at one point that doesn't work too bad. I'll have to take a pic of it when I get a chance. RJ #27 Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) Well I cant speak about the Tankstick- I have the DualStick (no trakball) & the manual says Dualstick mode is for single-person gameplay. It tells how to use 2 DualSticks on a PC, but no other systems/consoles. I'd prob write them w/ any questions. Another interesting thing is you can set it for half- or full-tilt control sensitivity on the fly, like for racing or games that need precision. However, there's no indication when it's activated, you do the 2-button combo & thats it. I personally didnt see a difference in Pole Position 1 or PP2 on Namco 50th Anniv- it still slid all over the track. JFTR I got 2 different manuals, 1 w/ the controller itself, & 1 w/ the 5-in-1 X-adapter. One is 11 pages, the other 19 but both have the same info. I actually only looked at what I had to know for my setup. I now see neither manual explains the 8- to 4-way conversion, must've been on their site but I KNOW I saw it, had pics too. Imagine a 1982 Kangaroo coinop cabinet w/ the perfectly-fitting Dualstick controller in front, & a PS2 inside. I swing open the coinslot door to change discs. Cynicaster #28 Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) Here's a pic of mine. Long live the Fuji! Obviously, that joystick out in no-man's land that looks like it doesn't belong is the dedicated 4-way. The small buttons in the upper left are (top to bottom) cabinet power, escape, and pause. Edited July 1, 2011 by Cynicaster
NightSprinter #29 Posted July 1, 2011 That's a shame, honestly. It would've been great to set up on a console for 2-player Smash TV if possible.
RJ #30 Posted July 2, 2011 Well, maybe there's a workaround, or something I dont know about. Like I said, email them if you have questions. They were really good about communicating w/ me.
Hatta #31 Posted July 2, 2011 The Xbox has 4 ports on it. So if you want to use it with MAMEoX or CoinOps you could use 2 dual sticks no problem.
brak #32 Posted July 4, 2011 I have 2 x-arcade 2 player tank-sticks. I have the non-trackball version on my MAME cab, and the one with the trackball for use with my computer or consoles once i get the adapters. they're great products, very well made. i just wish they had a real spinner on them.
