ColecoDan #1 Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) So now I am worried. Did someone figure out how to create colecovision boxes? Where the heck are all these colecovision boxes without the games coming from? They all look like they are in awesome shape too. Is this the same guy that sold the other boxes I didn't check that? EDIT: I looked up the old one and it is not the same user id for that old ebay sale of a bunch of boxes Examples eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320721672032 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320721663263 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320721662629 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320721661827 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 220807111602 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 220807110521 Edited June 30, 2011 by ColecoDan
Yurkie #2 Posted June 30, 2011 If I had won these, I would have to glue the bottoms closed and that detracts from the collectibility. The seller needs his/her ass kicked for opening them up on the bottom and laying them flat...IMO. The Parker Bros. box lot looks like the 2 piece lift top and those would be pretty good to win. I am curious on what others think. Thanks for the post Dan.
ColecoDan #3 Posted June 30, 2011 Wow I totally missed that they were buy it now. They are all gone baby. I hope the lucky winner gives me a gratuity I emailed him and asked him where they all came from, he said he sold all the games loose about 5 yrs ago and that these were boxes that when he got the games he immediately flattened them and put them away back in the 80's. I informed him that he screwed up and could have made some good money like the last ebay sale because a few of those lots had very rare games in them. I think they where auctions that started at 99 cents and someone got him/her to change them to BIN. Someone stole those for 20 something an auction shipped!!! Fk I would have glued the bottom shut and used denial for a couple bucks each!!!!!
retroillucid #5 Posted June 30, 2011 I hope the seller got a good chunk of money for them well....
+cmart604 #6 Posted June 30, 2011 Holy crap the seller got ripped off!!! I was looking at them, they definitely didn't have a BIN, somebody got him to agree to ridiculous BIN's. Someone got a very good deal.

ColecoDan #8 Posted June 30, 2011 I am kinda laughing now This guy screwed himself over twice. First he sold all those games loose 5 yrs ago which lost him a lot of money. Then he just made a deal with someone and lost a lot of money AGAIN!!!! Some people were just born on the wrong side of the bed
ColecoDan #9 Posted June 30, 2011 By the way, I think my posting screwed the guy that screwed this guy over because most of them were bought by an id of w****a and then 1 or 2 were bought by a different id so hopefully my post messed the buyer up. Thanks to ColecoDan I was able to get the last 2 auctions. They were Coleco ADAM lots and I don't think the other buyer wanted them tho.
Zwackery #12 Posted July 1, 2011 Ouch! I could have used 2 of those boxes. Oh well, dreams come true from time to time on eBay...
Crapahute #13 Posted July 1, 2011 If the buyer is around, maybe he could scan the boxes for my site Colecoboxart before glueing them...
ozma wars #14 Posted July 1, 2011 I always repeat myself that I am a gamer and and not a true collector, so I prefer to have 10000 games instead of 200 boxed ones...but it is a fact that recently on Ebay too many boxes are sold alone and in great/superb condition. Are you sure they are not reproductions ? if a producer of these boxes exist, pls send me a PM and will finally buy all missing boxes together. To COLECOBOXART : great job ! but how can I print the regular size ? I never get the real size ...

Are you sure they are not reproductions ? I'm fairly confident that these loose/solo boxes are not reproductions, although an industrious person could start making them at original quality, my experience is that the repro boxes have too many little differences that give them away. Back in the day, summer of 1987 to be specific, my parents were buying a new house, and so I had to clean up and pack my stuff for the move. I remember opening a drawer and sweeping all my CV game boxes (and Atari 2600 game boxes, too) into a trash bag. My games, and manuals, were in cart organizers (I probably had around 30 CV games back then), and I kept the carts & manuals and pitched the boxes. Stupid now, I know, and I have long since replaced those boxes, either by buying loose ones or CIB ones and flipping the loose carts + manuals. Anyhow, the point to my story is that generally it was easier to keep the carts stored separately from the boxes, so I can see why often empty boxes show up for auction/sale.
