Screen-Problems with french SCART Colecovision on my Samsung LCD TV

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I bought three french SCART-Versions of the CBS Colecovision Konsole. When i connect them to one of my Samsung LCD TVs (LE40C750 and LE46C750) i get a "jumping" picture. I don't know how to describe the picture correctly in englisch but it seems like the in the old times with room-antenna-tvs, when the signal was not good and the picture jumps up, down or diagonal with scratches in it.

Interesting is, that when i switch of and on the consoles many times, sometime (about every 20 to 40th try) the picture comes correct. but when i switch of and on again it is buggy again. I tried them with a sony lcd tv and here it works perfect, so it seems that the samsung tv's are the problems.

Have anyone an idea what this can be? Also do anyone know if on the SCART Signal from the french console is only the rgb-signal or also the video-out signal? if yes on which pin?

Thanks and greetings

Bubuman

Is there an different between RGB SECAM and RGB PAL? I thought the difference is only at composite?

I don't know. But back in time, if i remember well i could make work a SECAM device on a PAL only TV. (or the opposite ..not sure .. i think the best result i got was a black and white image)

Hi :)

I have no problems with use of my French CBS ColecoVision, and it have RGB Scart (Péritel).

I use PAL Samsung Tv (old fashioned) as a Monitor.

It also work with my Philips LCD 42PFL8404H/12 PAL/Secam.

The Video lead, -look at this link. :D

There is no difference between SECAM and PAL RGB, infact they dont exist, there is RGB!

A lot of modern TV's will not work correctly with old video game consoles and computers, try it on a CRT TV if you can, I bet it will work fine!

Just be careful switching the Colecovision on and off many times between each game. This can definitely cause problems of it's own. Good Luck!
