New colecovision compilation available.

Recommended Posts

That's interesting. :) So, what, you have to be a member of Silicium (whatever that is) to be able to order a copy?

I read on Silicium web pages that

L'ironie de la fin de l'Histoire

Coleco appartient aujourd'hui à Mattel. Ce même Mattel qu'avait fait rager le succès de Coleco face à sa console Intellivision.

???

Mattel the owner of Coleco ???

Michel you know Monsieur R. Speranza ?

I can organise a group order with Pixelboy if enough people, and luc,are interested

They only produced 45 copies, which will be ready to ship in August, and you can pre-order a copy right now by contacting the Silicium.org administrator. That's what I did. :)

Am I missing something here - what does this compilation offer that using a multicart with the same roms loaded does not?

With that red star, I'm thinking it looks more like an Eastern Block era Pioneer than an SA.

I think so. See the title : COCO-leco, in French Coco = communist.

infact !

that image is clearly inspired to the war for space of the Fifties.

would have much more preferred a Vichy era/Petainized version ! Faite confiance au soldat allemand et a son ColecoVision !

Thought maybe they were fans of the Tandy Color Computer (Coco) and everything just fit nicely as far as the wording. :?

Anyhow, looks like a nicely put together package, but not worth the money to me as well... maybe in 5 years when they are selling on eBay for $500, I'll pick one up! :dunce:

maybe in europe communism carries a lot of nostagic currency. in france the socialist movement was always strong, and maybe they are targeting ex-students looking for the good old days, kind of like using reagan's image for us americans

Whoa, dude!

Each Viche cart would have to be shipped with a complimentary copy of Leonard Cohen's The Partisan on 8-track.

Don't worry

no more communists here. Or, if still any, no visible difference with us. They drive SUV wear Armani and invest capitals as we do. No people dress Cossacks berets.

We also do no more wear black uniforms !

This may sound ridiculous, however when I first saw that box I thought that looks like communist crap.

Growing up during the cold war, I absolutely would not have that even for free on principle.
