HatefulGravey #1 Posted July 7, 2011 I picked up a lot of games yesterday from a Craigslist ad and in that lot was Stack Up. The game was in it's box, but the box is in pretty bad shape, and I thought it was a very very nice bonus to the lot if it was all there. Turns out it was missing one of the grey platforms you put the stacking pieces in. I hit up eBay to see if pieces and parts were out there to complete the game and found a few, but prices were of coarse insane. Prices like the 5 platforms for $200 by themselves insane. So now the questions in my head are as follows: How likely am I to find a replacement for that part on the internet somewhere without buying the entire game or spending stupid money? Does this set have any value as it is? I know what they are asking for the parts on eBay, I also know those people are normally idiots so I place no confidence in that at all. I would love to have this game completed. I'm not sure if I'll keep it or not, but I know I have no reason to if I can't complete it. I might as well sell it to someone that needs to complete the game or something. Man I really wish that one part had been there. That would have made my day some kind of good. It might be cheaper just to figure out the dimesions of the piece and have a new piece of plastic molded for you. Get someone to trace the curve of theirs etc. and send it to you Edited July 7, 2011 by TheGameCollector
HatefulGravey #3 Posted July 7, 2011 I feel like if that was cheaper the set wouldn't be worth as much. If people could produce the parts to play the game for less then the cost of the game people would. I could be wrong but that logic sounds pretty close to me. Maybe I just need to find that other person out there that lost a piece to their set as well, or that person with more patience then me to pick this up and wait out that last piece or something. tz101 #4 Posted July 8, 2011 Can you post a picture of the opposite side platform? If I see exactly what the piece looks like, I will do some digging.

I just think it's more like since ROB is rare, they think anything associated with ROB is rare as well. You did say you were going by ebay prices. Did the blocks come with ROB or did they come with the Stack Up game? The stack-up game might be much more common than the ROB itself, but the blocks depend on which one they were packed with. Mark Wolfe #6 Posted July 8, 2011 which piece is it you're missing? can you provide a picture? I have some odds n ends ROB stackup parts. maybe I have it?
flynnz #7 Posted July 8, 2011 (edited) Well if you are only missing one and I am correct in assuming the other holders are exactly the same, you could get a silicone mold kit. It's pretty easy to do, it's just a matter of getting the materials cheap. I have only used colorless resin in the molds myself, but I am sure you could find some resin in a gray to match. If you can get a kit pretty cheap, it could be a fun little project. Sadly I got my materials many years ago in college, so not really sure on the cost. PsychedelicShaman #8 Posted July 8, 2011 I would just post on nintendoage, I'd be surprised if there wasn't anyone in a similar position.
HatefulGravey #9 Posted July 8, 2011 I'm missing one piece like the ones in the picture attached. If there is someone out there with that random piece to sell I would love to complete this game. @TheGameCollector The blocks come with Stack Up. I believe ROB comes with the gyros and attachments for them. Stack Up was something like an expansion for ROB. It added different parts to the ROB collection. @PsychedelicShaman Thanks for the information. I always forget about that place. I'm not registered there and as such would hate to show up just to buy something but if the hits here don't pan out I'll look into it. @flynnz As far as I can tell they are all the exact same piece. I might look into that but if I can get a replacement that is original I would like that more. I'm a purist like that . @Mark Wolfe PM sent!!! @tz101 PM also sent!!! Ok, I think that covers everyone. Thanks again for the interest and the advice. This could be enough to make me track a ROB down.
Mark Wolfe #10 Posted July 8, 2011 is there any way you can find a shot from a different angle? hard to tell what it looks like from the side I'll take a look around and see what I find
HatefulGravey #11 Posted July 8, 2011 The best I can find right now as I'm at work. I can take pictures tonight to post if I still need to. I need the part that attaches to the base of ROB.

I don't think I have that part but I'll look for you. someone out there has to have it. ha! this guy has 'em but at what price? sheesh http://cgi.ebay.com/STACK-UP-NES-BLOCK-HOLDERS-VERY-RARE-ALL-5-/130541373980 for what it is worth, I wont charge you if I find it. I honestly do not think they are worth that much, that guy is dreaming Edited July 8, 2011 by Mark Wolfe
tz101 #13 Posted July 8, 2011 I am at work now, but have some ideas. Will post later tonight.
tz101 #14 Posted July 8, 2011 Here is a gaming site that gets in complete ones from time to time and the prices are really reasonable. Another thought: Register on Nintendo Age and ask around on their forums. There have to be some parts for sale over their for relatively reasonable prices.
