Epx998 #1 Posted July 8, 2011 I recently found out about the FB, FB2 and FB2+, being that it is 2011 these are not very available. I was hoping to get a FB2, but I just read a post about all the fakes. Almost bought one off e-bay too, whew. So, are there any plans for a FB3? I would love to get a legit system with the old favorites on it.
SlowCoder #2 Posted July 8, 2011 There's talk about it here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/183139-flashback-3-at-e3-is-it-real/ But it looks like it might just be a knock-off. (I haven't read the entire thread)
+iesposta #3 Posted July 8, 2011 I recently found out about the FB, FB2 and FB2+, being that it is 2011 these are not very available... I just thought I'd mention I got an FB2+ the last time it was on woot.com or woot.com/sellout mainly for the 2 joystick controllers (same price as buying 2 controllers), and the power supply. Found out that the power supply is not the same as the original, boo! Also disappointed they took out the Activision and replaced it with sports, and Caverns of Mars is not there (of which a thread here mentions that it was improved upon). Delighted they fixed Yars Return, have Asteroids (arcade), and Lunar Lander homebrew. Interesting trivia is that the instruction manual is Copyright 2010! How is that possible? Weren't these done manufacturing by 2005 or so??
BrianC #4 Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Caverns of Mars is not there (of which a thread here mentions that it was improved upon). Other threads mentioned why it was removed (licensing issues) and that the improved version is available on cart as Conquest of Mars. I have Conquest of Mars. It's a great homebrew and much better than the FB2 Caverns of Mars. It should be available at the AtariAge store when it goes back up. There's talk about it here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/183139-flashback-3-at-e3-is-it-real/ But it looks like it might just be a knock-off. (I haven't read the entire thread) Curt Vendel mentioned in the thread that it's not a knock off. Edited July 9, 2011 by BrianC
Epx998 #5 Posted July 9, 2011 Is the FB2+ moddable to use a cart slot? If so, does it work with the Harmony cart?
