ApolloBoy #1 Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) My fat PS2 died in a mod chip accident gone wrong today, so now I'm looking to replace it with a premodded PSOne so I can at least play my PS1 games. I'm looking for just the console itself, no hookups, controllers or games. Edited July 24, 2011 by ApolloBoy
+wood_jl #2 Posted July 10, 2011 My fat PS2 died in a mod chip accident gone wrong today, so now I'm looking to replace it with a premodded system so I don't have to worry about modding it again (which was a real pain). I only need the console itself, nothing else. I didn't buy a "fat" but I bought 2 premodded "slims" from this guy, and I can vouch for the fact that his service was 100% EXCELLENT. Orders were shipped IMMEDIATELY and were perfect upon arrival. www.intelmod.com here's a listing for a used premodded fat http://intelmod.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=7&zenid=6d6grqoqvfv4qrt1him5iabql4
ApolloBoy #3 Posted July 14, 2011 I'd still like to get one from someone here though, as that's a bit pricey and I don't want to be saddled with extra controllers and hookups.
JohnnyBlaze #4 Posted July 15, 2011 If you want a safer option, I have a PS2 Toy Story bundle that's pretty much brand new and it comes with the USB Extreme Disc and 750GB USB External HDD. The reason I say it's safer is that no modification is done to the console. All you do is insert the USB Drive, plug it in, pop in the USB Extreme disc, turn on your PS2 and BAM! If you want to add games, all you have to do, is hookup the HDD to your PC, pop in the disc you want to add or mount the disc image, and use the software to rip it onto the disc. I'm selling it for $150, but since I know what you're going through because I've been there before with my Saturn, I'll give it to you for $120. ApolloBoy #5 Posted July 24, 2011 No longer looking for a PS2. I want to be able to at least play my PS1 stuff, so now I have my eyes on a modded PSOne.

ApolloBoy #8 Posted July 26, 2011 What happened with your PS2? Anything that could possibly be repaired? The little tab that presses down on the ribbon cable for the controller/memory card ports broke off, effectively bricking my PS2. I tried fixing it with some hot glue but it wasn't enough to hold the cable down enough for it to work.
+wood_jl #9 Posted July 26, 2011 No longer looking for a PS2. I want to be able to at least play my PS1 stuff, so now I have my eyes on a modded PSOne. My suggestion: Get yourself a GOOD cheap working PS1. Experiment with it for a short while to make sure it's working 100%. Then go to racketboy forums and you can find people to mod a PS1. I speak from experience.
Rex Dart #10 Posted July 27, 2011 Try running thin wires, possibly an old IDE cable's wires from the controller port to the motherboard.
ApolloBoy #11 Posted July 27, 2011 Managed to find both a cheap PSOne and a cheap mod chip, so I'm done looking for now!
