Been away for a while, what did I miss

Recommended Posts

For no particular reason, I haven't been on this site for about two months. mainly because of work, vacations, family... Anyone care to give me a quick update on any thing new I missed on? I WILL read ALL threads I missed as soon as I can, but did anything new get discovered, any recent must have homebrew, that sort of thing.

You've been slacking.

Actually, I'm just here to welcome you back. :) I'm not the most adept at knowing what's going on around here, it's just the typical from what I see. I think there's problems with the store, Albert is having problems keeping up, new people coming in, old ones taking 2 month vacations *cough * :D

EggVenture 2600 is a new homebrew that is being tested. I sometimes have troubles figuring out what I'm supposed to do, but it's a well written game and should be a lot of fun for people who enjoy a challenge.

Atari allowed a Chinese company to license their name to make the Flashback 3. AtariAge members are not impressed. Is was not made by Legacy. Legacy wasn't even told about it before it appeared at E3. Read more at Dig That Box.

Software rendering may be removed from future versions of Stella so that it will be easier for Stephen to work on it. Trying to keep up with two different rendering methods not only makes updates more difficult, but causes frustration which takes away from the enjoyment of working on it.

The prototype for Going-Up? was released.

This didn't get a lot of attention from other members here, but I was impressed with Batari's test release of an ARM file that gives a pause feature using the Color/B&W switch for 2k or 4k games when using the development tab to program the Harmony cart. When it pauses, it also saves where you're at and this can be restored later (if you don't turn off the Atari).

There is now an NTSC hack for Panda Chase.

I fixed the diagonal control bug in Gefährliche Mäusejagd (aka Hole Hunter, Mole Control, Mole Hunter & Topy).

...old ones taking 2 month vacations *cough * :D

Hey, I resemble that remark. The only things I picked up recently were an auction with the 4 Sesame Street games, a boxed kids controller, and all manuals and overlays, and I picked up Gremlins with instructions. I really wanted all of those, and Gremlins because I had it new back in the day and traded it to someone for the original Stella CD after it was out of production.

I have been working on creating Blu Rays, and other projects realted to my DVDs. I have a fair amount of HD DVDs, and converted several to Blu Ray which was a nice learning experience, taking time, and mass giggage of drive space! If anyone is interested, I have streamlined it to a fairly good process with no video or audio conversion, and retain subtitles (the biggest hurdle) And it is ALL done only from original disks, I didn't want to download anything. Plus my game playing is almost exclusivly Plants vs Zombies, for some reason, I love that game.
