atari5200dude82 #1 Posted July 17, 2011 Night driver is one of my favorite racing games on the Atari 2600. IS there enough interest for some programmer to make a sequel to this game.
VectorGamer #2 Posted July 17, 2011 I'd be interesting in buying it...it's gotta support the driving controller, though
zylon #3 Posted July 17, 2011 You ever try the arcade port? It's pretty cool.

VectorGamer #7 Posted July 17, 2011 Here it is. Does it have the sounds like the Night Driver arcade?
zylon #8 Posted July 17, 2011 It actually sounds like a car accelerating, has shifts you can hear, tire squealing on turns and a pretty cool crash scene that goes to all busted windshield. Been a long time since I've heard an actual Night Driver arcade machine, but I'd rate this one as very close.
ComputerSpaceFan #9 Posted July 18, 2011 I'm confused. I posted a question about whether Night Driver was possible on the 2600 (other than the original cart) a year ago and got no reply so I figured the answer was "no" it could not be emulated. Now I see Zylon showing a screen of what looks to be a very close emulation of coin-op Night Driver here in this 2600 thread so does that mean it is possible and it's actually been done? If so, where do I get a copy? (my guess is the screenshot is not of a 2600 version)

I have it as part of a compilation disk from way back when and I've never seen another. 5200 and A8's should have no trouble running this game. I'll leave guessing the 2600's abilities to those who know. This game uses 5k in its original configuration. Edited July 19, 2011 by zylon

Rex Dart #14 Posted July 19, 2011 (edited) Then you need to play GTA IV! True... only game where I've ever died from getting drunk and falling down. Edited July 19, 2011 by Rex Dart
